I just don't have any sympathy at all for a candidate or party that loses an election because they had a horrible position on a popular freedom issue. Just don't do that seems like the clear solution here.

Citizen's United isn't really the problem so much as it just highlights all the other problems with our Federal government that are the real issues.

Federal elections shouldn't be anywhere near as important as they are because the Federal government isn't meant to be as large as it is. Local elections should matter a lot more. Those are the positions that have to answer to the people and they're also the people who are supposed to elect Senators to represent the states. If the people and the State governments hadn't willingly ceded so much authority to the Federal and Congress hadn't pushed off so much of it's power to the Executive to avoid any and all accountability Citizen's United wouldn't have created the absolute shit show that it has.

Much like Roe v. Wade, the SCOTUS didn't make the wrong ruling. They ruled correctly on the Constitutionality of the argument presented to them. It's not their job to weigh the political fallout and unintended consequences of their rulings. They just appear much worse than they otherwise would because they're the sole branch of the Federal government that still largely operates how it was intended to.

They certainly don’t control over every election org. But they did gain control over Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, Madison, Phoenix, LasVegas. That was enough to throw a presidential election. And Atlanta and Phoenix were enough to throw the Senate majority.

This is why they keep the squabbles focused on social issues as much as they can. Their wealthy donors don't actually give a fuck about that. It's largely just a distraction from the things they do care about which is accumulating more wealth and power.

Same thing happens with all kinds of conspiracy theories. JFK is about the only one they won't admit to decades after the fact.

You'd be shocked how much declassified shit the Feds have done post WWII that's just out there and really available to read about. The general public doesn't give a shit after a couple years. The last time a Fed conspiracy went public and there was actual outrage was acknowledgment of the Tuskagee Experiments and that lasted all of a couple months in the 90s.

Firstly: Jan 6th didn't work well either. Nothing has changed.

Secondly: You're off in the weeds- My point is republican politicians are in a better position to make changes for more transparent voting and they are choosing not to. They didn't need to "storm the capitol" because they are in there making laws in it every damn day and they haven't done shit to make the 2024 election any better than 2020.

I don't know, it shed an awful lot of light on what the Feds were doing and has made people more skeptical of election results.

Jan 6 has backfired pretty spectacularly for the Feds. They really didn't get shit out of it other than a couple months of legacy media trying to push the narrative that no one other than die hard liberals who believe everything they're told anyway.

Well Roe fuckin established one you fuck-twat and you never took appropriate advantage or expanded on it, and you broke your back to get it repealed.

You hate abortion... ok... not my issue, but it's important to you... you leave Roe in place as a privacy case and you establish a legal definition, over all 50 states that defines a common meaning of "When is a life, a life". that applies outside of Roe.
