Like the title says. What does Irate say? This is to carry, but I shoot what I carry at the range.
 
Having a sale at underwood today. I don’t have 9mm but been happy with their other calibers.

You could search around OSR a bit and find your own answer.
 
I stocked up on Norma 124gr. Local place had it for $10/box a while back. Its decent enough. I can buy JHP for $14-$16 a box locally, so I seem to burn up alot of that as well.
 
No one shoots expensive HP ammo at the range unless you are testing it for accuracy and consistency with your cheap practice fmj ammo. Decent HP ammo isn't cheap, I usually burn 100-300 rounds when I go shooting and that gets to serious $$ for HP carry ammo.


Besides that , lots good rounds out there and a million test video's.
 
Pick a weight a run it. I’ve shot probably 3 to 4000 rounds easily of import NATO spec ammo and every single one went bang. Not talking steel trash. European countries.

if you are out of 1 would you not plink the HP or carry the FMJ in the meantime?

I used to carry HP's and would run a mag or two of them when I was out and about. Years ago I got tired at trying to care about and just went FMJ everywhere.
 
Last five or more years I've been carrying wolf 115s
I wouldn't buy any right now, I'm pretty sure the QC went to shit when the import ban was announced, finally had one that didn't go off, a '21 lot number that didn't have flash holes in the primer pocket
other than that one, it's always been loaded nice and hot for good function and all that crap

probably should find a new brand one of these years, been just stretching out the wolf I've got with cast reloads
few mags of cast, then one of jacketed to clear the lead outta the barrel

of all the things i stockpile, thousands of rounds of various type isn't worth it. lot's easier to move and store 1 type instead of having carry specific vs plink specific vs whatever else :flipoff2:

but i've probably only got hundreds of rounds in 2 calipers and dozens of rounds among the several others.

if you are the kind of guy that wants to have significant stockpiles of multiple types of the same caliper, i guess go ahead. :flipoff2: make sure to only carry the pre-serrated stuff as well every 3rd week of the month :rasta:

I use Winchester ranger, or speer gold dots, or SIG v-crown. Whatever I can get.

FMJs are for Fudds. Why would you be so silly as to give up 50 years of advancement in bullet technology?:laughing:

I'd carry anything that passes the FBI standards.

I shoot my carry ammo every year and replace it. I shoot thousands of rounds of fmjs to practice with also.

If you're like most, you'll burn up about $50 in hollowpoints a year so why handicap yourself in an encounter?
 
You're 1MM too small. :flipoff2: Shoot your FMJ. Whatever you like. If you throw it down range first, you're probably the winner.
But I carry Hornady or Federal HP and plink FMJ

Carry, federal gold HP

I want a messy wound if I can’t get’em in the melon.

One thing to think about carrying FMJ as you’re still responsible for where that thing goes after it passes through them, you might hit somebody’s dog, and that would be very,very wrong
