What's new

Anyone near warner va?

You most likely did. I live right around the corner from both of the tunnels. The midtown is much better since they added the second tube. When it was still one tube, I remember going through in my Jeep with the top and doors off, then an accident happened in front of me. Came out with a massive headache from the exhaust fumes by the end of it.

Yep. We didn't have anything to do with the tunnel itself. We were working on the MLK extension and some of the approach on the Portsmouth side.

Also, fuck Kiewit and Skanska.

Were you there when the barge crane collapsed while working on that bridge?

Dude, MLK BLVD in Portsmouth 20 years ago near the military vehicle shipping lot, what a dump. Third world cities have had better roads than that.

Don't think so. I remember something about a boom coming down on a crane, but it was relatively uneventful. Not sure if that was the same incident.

It was bad. Our main work area was right next to one of the low income housing projects. I was only there for 6 months and we had at least one dude get shot in a car right on the other side of our fence. Working at night on the highway we saw several cards get dumped and lit on fire. A couple of our subs almost got hijacked while they were stopped for a train crossing. We all carried on that job.

The area has actually gotten a lot better :laughing: There are still pockets of hood rat shit, but they tend to keep it out of our boujie neighborhoods because they know we have more firepower.

I rescued a dog that spent a few years as a yard dog on airline blvd behind the jail. That dog was a beast, looked like a bear and did not like black people at all. 100% went on alert any time he saw a black person. He was a sweetheart otherwise.

Still looks shitty from here. :flipoff2:

I spent most of my time here - the 264/MLK interchange. Somewhere I still have a good time lapse vid of us taking the the pedestrian bridge that's a little west of this. So much fun dealing with the little Kiewit/Skanska field engineers that were entirely pre-occupied with the tiny specs of lead paint that came off the bearings. ZOMG it has high levels of chromium in it!!!!!

That housing development at the bottom was sketchy as fuck. We had to do seismic surveys of all the "houses" before we drove pile. Our guy had to have a cop escort him the whole time they were knocking on doors and surveying all the buildings.

There's a rail crossing just below that pic - Deep Creek and Frederick. We'd come of the site and get stuck waiting for train to go through and when you're stopped, there's nowhere to escape. We had several subs and employees who had people try to get in their cars when stopped there.

The company F=150's had a great place under the center seat to stash a 9mm. :smokin:

Didja fix the ride yet-

Yeah last night, hit applebee's then the hotel. Think the server gave me regular instead of decaf cause I paid in bed wired till 3am. Lost 4 hours of fuck off time today. Motor seems fine, it was popping pretty good before I got to a spot to pull over at first and tripped the high limit coolant temp cel.

No alcohol at Applebee's after ten, guess we're not getting kicked out tonight :lmao:

That's unfortunately the whole state right now because Grand Wizard Northam has decided that somehow COVID is more contagious after 10 PM.

Anytime I went across that piece of pavement was at as high of a speed I could manage without guaranteeing a VA State Troope pulling me over.:flipoff2:

Romogo

Remember that time we were headed out your way for a meet and shoot and there was a head on accident right behind me? It wasn't too far from where this pic was taken.
