What's new

Anyone near Rancho cordova? Want to join a sketchy situation?

Yes it's that one. Probably bumped the price when I told them I was going to offer 8k on a 4600 trailer, haha. That picture is exactly where its sitting... alongside the street. Completely unlocked and not in front of a house or anything.

I'm surprised no one has jacked the propane bottles yet.

Blessing in disguise they no -showed? Sketchy deal, Cali is a weird place.

It sucks but for some reason the industry has moved away from fifth wheel/gooseneck as much as they can. Forest river discontinued the model of trailer I want in gooseneck and only sell the "equivalent" in bumper pull. The Scamp's are to small for me but I am always on the lookout for an Aljo. They made little 5th wheel campers that are nice and light and short length wise but tall enough inside for me, (picture a slide in camper with 2 axles under it). They have been out of production a long time though so the clean good shaped ones are getting harder to find every year.

I passively look for campers here and there and I can't find a 13' Scamp for not much less than 10k, they seem to hold a lot of value. Also, Scamps and Casita's really seem to be scam bait, have seen a lot listed for $1,000 in Ohio with palm tree backdrops and it's pretty obvious that's bullshit. Not sure what the angle is, but it's bullshit.

This may be longer than you want

Yeah that’s a full size. IIRC they made a 22 ft fifth wheel and 8 ft of that is the goose neck. So the main box is only 14ft. I want to use one for a crawler hauler like how people put a slide in on the front of a goose neck. But I want the shitter and all that stuff a slide doesn’t have. Not paying $30k for a giant slide anyway regardless of its options.

My 97 8' slide in had everything a trailer has. Shitter, shower, fridge, freezer, oven, a/c and heater.

Buuuut, I'm with you on using a small 5th wheel instead, the floor space sucks in a cab over.

We actually are looking to sell, just haven't had any time to make the effort required to make it as clean and fancy as most airstream people are looking for. I love this thing(the wife and I have had it all over the US), but we need some sort of setup that we can tow our jeep with instead. I would always give pirate... er irate homies first dibs.

If yota up doesn't want it put me next in line. I'm in the north SF bay area, so not to far away.

I think I decided on a brand new 2021 colman17b
smallest bunkhouse made and $10,900 brand new.
just need to find one in stock.

You should buy this to build your ballin on a budget Earthroamer-wannabe RV so I don't have to: https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/d/royal-oak-f350-lariat-crew-cab-4x4/7145713782.html

I got mine from BEST RV in turlock, their customer service is shit, but they have the best prices I could find. And crazy large selection.

Slide ins are also not built or meant to have a frame under them, I'm 6'3" and slide ins aren't tall enough. A slide in with a real bathroom can't sit flat on a trailer because they have a huge step down hanging behind the end of the bed. I've had friends that tried it and they were unmanageable nightmares. I think the tiny 5th wheels would be easier to mount on a trailer, or build a new frame under it from scratch.

Well let me know if you find a new one any time in the future. My standards are pretty low, I'm not picky about it being sparkling clean. My wife will make it sparkle either way.
If dirty/less fancy keeps the price low, I would say please don't clean it.

You've always come across a decent and mature person here. I disagree with some of your positions but find you articulate and respectful. I would not hesitate bring my family out to meet you and check out the camper. When you are closer to timing it's sale, we can schedule our next Monterey trip to stop by and say hi. Thanks for the consideration.

I agree with all of that.

Mine sat flat, but the shower drained into the black tank, which was the biggest complaint I had about that camper.

I'm 5' 11" and I can't imagine being any taller in one. We liked our, but it was definitely a compromise.

I really want a ~20-25' enclosed goose to build a toy hauler out of.

Sure thing. We may have an accelerated schedule because I found this thing and I think it's really cool:

I'll buy it for you today and trade straight across for your trailer :flipoff2:

I see what you did there. I would almost jump on that, when I drag this home it would be the whole "But they're MAGIC beans" conversation with my wife all over again.

I'm thinking I'm going to need some extra cash to make some stuff look new inside or I'll be sleeping in it in the driveway for the next few months.

So bad news about our airstream. Last Friday I left our side gates open so my kid could ride his bike around the house and a guy knocked on my door (OMG pandemic:rolleyes:) after seeing the trailer parked on the side of the house and wanted to know if it was for sale. The dude had some sort of story about driving over from the central valley to buy a similar airstream, but the owner backed out and he needed one for his sister and times were hard and blah blah blah and then he lowballed me by 7 grand as soon as he walked in the trailer. Ok buddy, you knocked on my door, remember?

Anyway, I told him he was crazy, we went back and fourth and I got what I wanted for it and as a bonus didn't have to clean it up or list it or anything. So yeah, I kinda sort of sold it right then and there and decided that I still really really thought that old motorhome with the 6BT swap was cool. Soooooo.... I drove our truck up to check it out and one thing led to another and I'm not good at making adult decisions when cool ass motor swaps are involved.

Thanks, I have the option to buy a 32' 2015 bumper pull Sunset Trail for pennies on the dollar, but its to big for where I am going to store it at my sisters. I may just buy it to flip it.

How much?

Funny, I noticed it had sold. What is the rental fee or what needs work on it?

I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out. it's not going anywhere anytime soon as it's my problem to sell it. I just have to do a little research to see what it's actually worth and what I'm willing to pay for it

keep it and rent it out, I made 10k off my trailer last year. You'll get a little fewer bookings with that since it looks like it would be a 3/4ton or better to tow it.

Just ordered a new dinette for it last night since the one in it was sort of uncomfortable and only seated two. Next up is to figure out how to get seatbelts/carseat latch anchors to work with the whole thing.

Also has all the parts of an engine brake hooked up, but switch to activate it doesn't work. I need to figure that out. Oh, and the generator cranks but doesn't start. I'm about to dive into that this weekend.

Other than that, it just needs a good cleaning and vacuuming. The previous owner kept it in very good shape considering its age. Doesn't even smell bad inside.

No rental fee for you guys. Hoping I get the carseat anchors figured out quick.

How much did you take for the Airstream? 19 footer, I think it was. This will help set me in a price point in case I come across another one comparable to yours. Thanks.
