Thoughts on the PTR? One of my local shops has a PTR with the Pic rail 10 mags and 100 rounds for $1100 that I almost think I need...

It's fine. Not my first choice, I mean I like it, Love the way it looks and the history, but it's no FAL.

I built an AR-10 for my father-in-law, It's probably better than the PTR too, but everybody's got a AR-10 and I like to be different.

It is a little more punishing to shoot than its contemporaries. I assume that has something to do with the roller delay.

I bought mine off Armslist, slightly used, in the before times. I got it, a range bag full of like 20+ magazines, a spare receiver, and some spare small parts. I think I gave $700 for it.

No idea what they're going for now. Surplus mags are dirt cheap, probably the cheapest mags of any battle rifle on the market. A hundred rounds of 7.62x51 It's probably $90 or more depending on what it is.

yes aware one is only some version of an AK but it's the only pic I have handy of it. Both SBR, the lower is a pistol 9mm with a brace.

acquired taste I guess. I agree when I first got into them but the more I shoot the few I have the more I like the looks.

And if you want sexy, well that's what the 550 series is for.

I remember when they first became a thing. Always wanted one, but got by with bolt cutters. I’ve been buying nice 100% receivers and will be rebuilding most of my flat builds, since none of them came out perfect, and it’s always annoyed me. Figured I might want to get some decent tooling to do it right this time.
