So theres an abandoned gooseneck at a large plaza near my house, which is last exit before a weight station. I am 100% sure its abandoned - no lock, homeless RVs all around it, trash on it. Its been here forever, at least while I lived herr, since February.

Checking in on what PBB would do. Been temped to just go over there and bring it home, before some tow yard picks it up and does a lien sale on it. Or just leave it alone?

What would you do? Its like a 30ft Load Trail, two axle but single wheel, in decent shape.

Does it have plates?

Is it on public or private property? I would not assume it is abandoned.

Link to google aeiral view of trailer.

This is a nice white neighborhood right before a weight station. Target / Home Depot / TJ Max / etc.parking lot, unmoved for as long as I can remember. There is no security in the plaza, or I would ask them

I have trailers sitting on my property that I haven't moved in at least two years. They are still mine and not yours. Why would you think they are abandoned? Do you not have projects that sit for a period of time? Would you care if someone came and took one?

First off fuck thieves

things that dont add up:
been here forever-aka less than a year
nice neighborhood-yet trailer surrounded by trash and homeless
unknown if it will need wheel spacers :flipoff2:

OP hates thats his in head voice made a post..... damit...... :grinpimp::grinpimp:

I needed the collective to shut the voice inside my head up, no regrets.

Just figured let me ask, because some tow yard will end up taking and selling it anyway, so I thought why not ask you dudes about it

I think there’s a way to search the plate to find the owner of it. Do that and see if you can get it from him the legal way.

Fucking OP wants to be a thief.

I bought an 18ft trailer years ago, got a pink and all but the plate didnt match I found later. I dug arouns, called Carson and gave them the stampings, they gave me a vin, and I ran it through the sheriff - it was stolen. I had them pick it up, and I was SOL on the money.

Moral of the story, no I dont want to steal it from anyone.

Its a Texas plate, I am in California. Suppose it is stolen - its not going to make it back to TX. The day it gets towed, storage fees, tow fees, and transport back to TX will be far greater than the trailers worth. Tow yard will do a lien sale and that will be how it goes. Or do you think the PO will pay 10k to get the trailer back to them?

Not justifying taking it, just thinking realistically here, its not going to go back to TX regardless od what the deal with it is. Ive had stuff stolen and you are on the hook for the fees.

Dude. Seriously? I clicked on this thread expecting to see pictures of an old rusty trailer sitting on rotten tires. That thing is like new, at least the small portion shown in the photos you took while you were casing it out. :flipoff2:

Ive had a bunch of shit stolen :mad3:

So youve been through this before and want to do it again...but not buy it so less legalish cool

you are justifying it. If its stolen and the owner is found it will go back to them, or they can sell it to you directly.

hahahaha $10k to get back. the mental Olympics you are doing to steal this is impressive.

ETA:
So by stealing this you are doing the previous owner a favor? is that what you are saying? :flipoff:
