What's new

2bbs 2021 bronco build

The swiss cheese style looks like a magnet for getting caught on stuff.

It's the skid plate people take issue with. Even with something on the back the metal between those slots would bend even if it was 3/8 steel.

All the louvering in the faces of the bumper is less egregious but suffers the same problem. Stuff is just gonna punch through/tear it and it's gonna look beat the fuck up in short order. Leaving it solid would have been easier and stronger. I get that you're making it worse because that's what the customer wants. But you're still making it worse.
None of that stuff applies at the mall. :homer:

I would say ford moved that radar box bullshit and atleast 2 fluid coolers to fit that winch on the everglade. Wasn't going to happen on this model in the time frame we had.

As for the lights this one does have Baja designs lights behind the cutouts they just aren't turned on in the pics.

It's .25" 5052 aluminium. Once bent and welded they are quite strong. The stock bumper is multi layer sheet metal with cast recovery points so I'd put more faith in this. I prefer steel personally but thats not what sells lately. I'm sure the hate brigade will arrive shortly to straighten me out on everything i just said :lmao:

I'm not an engineer or ceo. Just one of the metal fab guys.
Do you make stuff for newer F150s?

Launching my shit off of speed tables is just about the only time I fully cycle suspension these days.

There is a sick table top/speed bump directly in front of the statehouse in RI if your looking for a new challenge. We used to bring our supermoto bikes there late Friday nights during the summer and jump the shit out of it. You hit it right in a car and I bet you get 5' of air. :smokin:

That makes me want to fix the frame on my Ranger. That's the only vehicle I have that can tolerate a full send type launch.

There is a one lane bridge near me that works as a tabletop. If it’s me and the boy in the car, we stretch the Tundras legs a bit. I don’t do it if the wife or the dogs or wife are in the truck but I like to keeps the shock shafts cleaned and lubed.

I think they may have rebuilt it. It used to be blue and white and I don't remember it having new pavement before and after it. I bet they lowered it or built up the road on both sides to fix the issue. At least 2 fire trucks had hit it and cracked the frames and on more than one occasion a POS ghetto glider would bottom out going over it and smash the aluminum oil pan to bits.

Edit: maybe not, I still see landing strips on both sides of the crosswalk. :smokin:

Nice tie rod/steering upgrade. Definitely needed. Not sure what they were thinking with those tie rods. IMO 40s are a bit much on these, even with 4~6" lift unless you're into the oversized tire/Ht Wheels look. But still rub even with custom fenders. 37s look good with 2~4".
I'm not a fan of adjustable track bars, better to raise the mount or lower the upper mount or both like the EIMKeith mount for 4Runners. That way you can use the stock bar and sill keep it parallel to the axle.
They're needed if you replace the cover on these. the factory track bar hugs the cover pretty close. Close enough that with a Spicer 44 cover, the OE bar won't work. A modified version was created for the Bronco/Ranger. Most any aftermarket cover with ribs will have the same issue. Not a lot of room to go up with the axle side, will contact the frame depending on what your full stuff/bottom out is compared to your lift. Haven't looked into dropping the frame side.

No idea if the stuff will switch over.

After just buying 1 set of tires and wheels Im trying to keep the cost down where I can. I was able to score a pretty significant deal on my racelines, under 2k for 5.

Still not sure if I should have went with a gladiator or not, time will tell on my feelings towards the bronco. A similarly optioned Gladiator or jk/jl/whatever they are now would have been priced about the same. I will say on the street the bronco drives like a nice suv where the jeep drives.... like a jeep.
Tie rod ends and shafts won't swap over. Braptor is ~3.45" wider per side and the shafts are slightly longer yet, due to the slightly higher ride height. Longer shafts are available from Ford Performance, Spicer, and RCV (re-stickered Spicers with orange boot). Tie rods obviously need to be longer also. In addition, Braptor uses an M14, instead of the M12 and thus has a larger ID for the taper in the knuckle.

If you ever plan to re-gear or axle swap, the computer becomes the next obstacle. If ABS sensor wheel speed doesn't match what the transmission speed sensor says it should be, it will go into limp mode. Not sure if anyone has been able to figure out how to "re-gear" the computer, Only way to do it is to send the computer to the Ford programming people somewhere in Europe. Axle swap is another issue with this, trying to mimic the OE sensor input.
I laid out some of the issues with SAS earlier, if you need further info, just ask. This route does get rid of the 29 spline outer hubs.

This is why I am super curious about that solid axle swapped bronco floating around the Internet. Never seen it going more than a few MPH. When I asked him if it shifted he said it was a secret.

Ford sells a wiring harness and powerpack for the 2.3 and 2.7 with any trans... basically a stand alone system. Seems like it would be the way to ho if you are going to get into it that far.

You need some Talons garage skid plates.

I’ll pay to ship your rig down here, and send it back to you with front, transmission, transfer case and gas tank skids.

I’m about to release a new transmission, front and transfer case skid for the new F-150 :p

Front skid not pictured. Oil door missing I fail at photos :p.

Im in... I assume you dont already make them so my truck would be the test mule? As long as they are overbuilt, dont hang down any further then necessary, and dont have bolt heads hanging down to get ripped off or hung up on.
They will definitely get used and if they do what they are supposed to Ill help pimp your products.

Ahhh okay, so they're full of shit. They're loafing it around in limp mode for the publicity waiting on someone to figure out the computer BS.
Which is bullshit when they could just nut up and cut proper tone rings on everything and the computer wouldn't know the difference.

Hey, I've got your cat gaurd on my 4runner. Good stuff, and ROI on that MF is pretty fast considering how many dirt bags with recip saws there seem to be.

It’s really cool to know another irate member has one of my products!

I may end up needing a yellow star before long :p.

Is that what the Ultra4 4600 Broncos are using with the portals and rear Dana 60?
