1981 Pickup Build - Old Yeller

The chassis is still on the drawing board, I have been going back and forth between buying a prefab tube frame or making one myself. I'm 6'5" so that takes a lot of prefab chassis off the table, especially with the driver side drop Atlas.
Have you seen the liberty mountain fab chassis?

4th of July Rubicon Trip went well. We had a jeep break down right after the classic green bridge just after Big Sluice. Somthing with the key sensor not sensing the key, which apparently is a thing we heard from a guy at the camp next to us. We pulled it all the way back to our camp at buck, next day pulled it from buck to loon in 5 hours and 20 mins. My little yota didn't do any of the pulling which meant I got to jump out and help crank on the steering wheel during the big stuff. All in all, solid trip with lots of good times and beers

The rest are pics from the pulling of the jeep. We had the ford out front and the buggy in the middle. The jeep was a rough ride and fought the entire time with no power steering, good work out to say the least

I knew I saw you drive past :homer:

Couldn't remember if you were on the west coast or not, figured it was someone else

I was camping at the shit show at loon lake

Yessir west coast! Only a 6 hour drive to Loon. That place was so packed when we drove in it was nutty, trailer parking was interesting too

Two more Shaver trips in the books, first trip was solid and good weather, second was also solid but colder and rainy, made for some fun slick rocks, snapped a tie rod end and sheared a locking hub off on swamp. I think the old gal got jealous of all the attention the other toyota has been getting so she acted out...

...Or maybe the trail sodas were extra crispy that day, one of the two:beer:

i saw on your other thread you did something special to mount the seats on this rig

any pics?

Shitty pics, I'll try to find some from when I did it, but I just cut a square hole in the floor and lit some tube coming off my sliders inwards to build the new "floor" and bolted the seats flat to that new floor

This is a good idea ⭐ I need to do something similar.

I was just looking at those. They seem like a neat design and I had vortex mufflers before and liked the sound. I have to wonder how they compare tone and DB wise.

I run them on both yotas and love them and their sound, not sure about the comparison with vortex
