I spend a stupid amount of time looking at/for build-threads/videos/etc when I should be working. This post is an attempt to make them easier to find. I'll start..

This guy built a cool 1-ton and diesel swapped 76-77(?) F150. Seeing this inspired me to spend money and collect more parts for my similar swap on my F150 (except for the diesel):

This one..... :smokin:

Is it allowed to just say basically any bullnose flareside pickup? I'm super weak for these and I'll probably own one eventually.

This is the stuff dreams are made of (at least mine):

I remember being in complete awe watching this thing go through that pit at :25. How in the hell did it survive with 54" tires and 1-ton axles?

Green Speaks
Most looking forward to:
“Definitely the Mud Pit. My roots are in the mud, and I’m sure that’s where my truck will shine.”
Not looking forward to: “I would say I’m looking forward to all of them, but least of all anything to do with the rocks because it is the rocks that I have the least experience with. The Tank Trap is obviously the pinnacle event of the competition, and I’m very curious to see where my truck stands with the competition.”
Playing in his iPod/CD player: “I’m a big country music fan, but right now I would say I’m probably listening to Jason Aldean and good old-fashioned Guns N’ Roses.”

"The high-pinion Dana 60 was sourced from a ’91 Ford 1-ton truck and equipped with 35-spline Yukon chromoly axleshafts, NorthWest Fab drive-flanges, a spool, and 5.13 gears. To aim the big Ford, Reid Racing knuckles, custom high-steer links, and a hydro-assist kit all work together. Front and rear pintle-hitch hookups, along with a 10,000-pound Warn VR-series winch provided Green with heavy-duty recovery options."

Any that have an LS swapped in it.:stirthepot: :flipoff2:
Maui Matt's buggy looks like a Ford and it had/has? an LS in it..
"some of the specs are LS3 motor,Hughes powerglide,Atlas 5.0,H.P. 60s, Welder Boy knuckles,ARBs, with rear steer the Yukon gears and axles were supplied by Randy's Ring & Pinion, and drivelines by JE reel, The chassi is built out of 120 wall chromo,115 wheel base,42 Iroks, and Allied Beadlocks,2.5 Fox coilovers and 2.5 Fox double bypass shocks on each corner from Poly Performance."

I like my 1994 Explorer, had it since it was six months old. Been modifying it since about a year after that.

1994 XLT Explorer, 90% of the modifications done myself (and done over again and again over the years).
8.8 Rear with Yukon C-clip eliminator kit, Detroit locker, 5:13 gears, custom leaf springs.
HP D44 Front narrowed to early Bronco width, Eaton Elocker, 14" Radflo coil overs, Duff extended radius arms, BC Broncos steering and track bar, RedHead steering box, 2006 Liberty power steering conversion.
Maxxis 35x12.5x15" tires on 15x8.5 wheels.
Stock 4.0 engine, GM 700R4 trans, 3.8 Atlas II.
Custom center console and cage, 1100 watt stereo with Kicker separates, custom storage in cargo area.
Custom plate bumpers, sliders, roof rack and skid plates.

I wanted a rig that would do everything good, and crawl better. Ended up with a rig that will bomb down a fire road as fast as you want, cruises down the highway at 65 MPH, is great for remote camping trips or long-distance off-road excursions, and crawls very well.

Future main mods are a NWF iBox, and I want to swap in a GM L32 3.8 supercharged V6. It will bolt up to my 60* bellhousing 700R4 and I like GM engines for reliability and aftermarket support.

My favorite trucks are bump sides and dent sides (I'd give the edge to a bump side) in a regular cab long bed, the way god intended :flipoff2:

I really want to build one with a front coil setup and 40-42" tires. I really like rattle_snake and Harry Wagner's builds, but I think I would rather go with an 7.3L IDI Turbo, DT360, or 6BT (last resort ) and a ZF s6-650 for a transmission.

Rattle_snake's '72 build in case you've been living under a rock :smokin:

I am also partial to '80-'86 trucks since my grandfather had one that had been in the family since new I rode around a lot growing up. I had an '84 F250 6.9L 4x4 for a while that I had big plans for, but after taking stock of my current projects I decided to sell it to my uncle recently :frown: Of course regular cab long bed is the only way to be. I really like Dave Chapelle's "Mom's Spaghetti" build (yes, I know it isn't actually an '80-'86 :flipoff2:) Personally I prefer a style/fleet side bed over a step/flare side, but it is still cool none-the-less.

I also really like the '99-'07 Superduty trucks and the original build of the 2002 "Ultimate" Superduty was one of my favorite builds even if it was a bit of a turd :homer:

I couldn't find any good pictures of it wheeling, but Duty Calls from the old board had a cool 2000 F350 until he swapped all the parts over to an Excursion.

There was also a really cool '03 Superduty build from Alaska I have never been able to find again. It was probably the cleanest and most functional Ag tire build I have ever seen. I feel like there was a build thread on it on Pirate and it was on the cover or a feature article in Petersen's or Fourwheeler about 10-15 years ago. I really wish I could find it again

I like 1st gen Rangers and Bronco IIs and I think the most inspirational build I have seen was Ruth's from Pirate.
Capture8.PNG

The "Punisher" BII build back in the day was pretty cool too.

'66-'77 Broncos are my favorite 4x4s and there have been plenty of incredible builds out there, but some of the ones that come to my mind first are JR's (even though they were buggies with Bronco skins ) and Gordon Ballie's.

Gordon Balie's that is still mostly Bronco :smokin:

I came to post this one. I think going forward Superdutys are going to be the cheap wheeler of the future.

You and I have that opinion in common. Ford trucks peaked aesthetically with the bumpside. I'm personally partial to the 70-72 style grilles.

Here's the highboy my dad and I swapped to a bumpside.
