Trailer tires - What's good, what's junk?

Since this thread got bumped, another update on my Maxxis M8008 ST Radials.

7+ years old at this point with around 20,000 miles on them and no flats or blow outs :grinpimp: Still plenty of tread as well. You could probably get 40-50K out of these tires if you actually tow enough to hit that mileage before they rot.

Maxxis has since come out with the M8008 Plus, which if it is any improvement over the older M8008 I have, it should be a fantastic trailer tire.

I don't have personal experience with them, but if you need a trailer tire with more than the load range E the M8008 Plus offers, I would be looking at the Maxxis UR-275 ST Radial.

As far as online tire retailers, I have bought off Amazon, Ebay, Simple Tire, Walmart, Tire Rack, Online Tires, and probably others. I have never had an issue and will never buy tires from an actual tire store unless it's an emergency. I just search for the tire I want on Google, and buy from whoever can get it to my door the cheapest.

Whats the safe bet to order online. Local place cant get LRG in 225/75/15

Looking at simple tire, tire-easy, giga tires, priority tires....all seem to have mixed results
I've used Simple tire direct to NTB and simple tire from ebay, both were non issue.
With the cost to mount and balance lately I am not sure I could get a better deal sourcing the tires myself right now.

my local place is pretty fair...they dismounted 4x 40's and broke the inner bead on 4x beadlock 40's......for $22

also just pulled the trigger on 4x suntek 225/75/15 LRG from ebay....they are the same tires as freedomhauler, suntek, etc.

These suckers came fast....beads are thicc. Yes this is on 15" rims. It's a 10k trailer. Tires now are rated for more than the trailer

I've been running relatively cheap "china bombs" on mine for a while now.

5 years then swap out. Keep them at max PSI loaded and keep up on bearings. This is on a trailer with 2x3500 axles weighing about 6000 pounds.

My old plugspitter 5400 slows down if it sniffs a hill within 50 miles. Tires and bearings never have a chance to heat up for long.

Never had an issue with my trailer tires on the rental trucks. Those trucks have no problem holding the limit of the tires all day.

Carlisle Radial Trail HD 205 75 15 D on my 12' enclosed trailer. No issue whatever is hauled(havent overloaded) on 12+ hour drives multiple times. Rarely over 70mph though.

Same as above 205 75 14 D on 6x10 open trailer. Always at max or overloaded and never an issue. Dont go over 75 loaded.

Same tires on my landscape trailer. Never had to use spare until it was bald
Seems like Carlilse Radial Trail HD got the cancer after 5th year on the open trailer(205 75 14 D) , what a waste as lot of tread life left. I went with Tire Power King Towmax Vanguard ST 215/75R14 Load D 8 Ply Trailer as someone recommended Power King Tow Max in this thread. Will see how it turns out

The Trail HD is flat, the cancer part is on middle of tread where it shaped like round like other half of trailer tire do. Shake my trailer like crazy until after 35mph then again at 70mph
