Big Dumb Loads

I was wondering what hit that when I drove by last week. Pretty sure it's also the only over highway sign to hit in the county.

They're also just out of eyeshot of a weigh station on 29. Not quite the route I'd take with a overheight grain bin, but my record with dumb loads is squeaky clean.

Deere la 2200 lbs according to the interwebs.

That fully checks out then. It'd be on the bump stops but not by much.

I bet it handles like a sports car compared to the same truck with 2000lb Bridgeport up by the cab just because it's on the bumps rather than floating just high enough above them to have concerning amounts of body roll.

I've always wondered how something like that would work - or not work.
Although now that I look at it, the rear tires in the background look like they're on the slide-out ramps and there's a shadow under the rear tires in the foreground...
So, I guess I wonder how that would work, and also if the rear was riding on the ground

it wouldn't. It's been gone over a bunch in the car dolly threads.

I think that's a man hole cover under the far side rear tire. I think they may have some cribbing under truck frame down to the trailer. Looks like a decent amount of weight on the trailer axles.

Curious what stopped it. Can't see if the trailer hit something, bucket came down or wheels got traction. Looks like any of those options would have messed something up though. Maybe a little of all 3 at once.
Kinda looks like someone dove into the passenger door and got to the brake pedal. Probably face and hands first.

In a similar fashion, I loaded up a yard trailer with a full FEL worth of 1.25" stone. Hooked it to my Sportsman 700 Twin. I made it about 20' before I ripped off every tooth on the belt.

Apparently that trailer weighed more than I thought.
The teeth don't really do anything, the sides of the belt do. Use low range for stuff like this. I moved 8-10k trailers with my sportsman in low range.

I tried high gear, wasn't going anywhere. I got momentum in low, then ZIP. Nowhere.

Sucked too because trailer was stuck hitched to the atv. Used the tractor to maneuver it.

That is shop equipment and miscellany from my old shop in 2018. Note the 1000 lb safe in there. We hauled it up a ramp, too. It wasnt on flat ground for this load.
