Build 1988 Samurai Turned Buggy

Wheeled Camp 5, Hal Johns, Calamity Canyon Monday and Fruity Pebbles, Rock Garden, and Captain Crunch Tuesday. I’m like 90% certain I could not go up Captain Crunch. We came down it, and there were a lot of sketchy sections.

Really wish I had a pic of one spot. xr-nut said we were over, but it drove out.

T-Back and Bikini Friday.

That's awesome!! Love the blackhills, hal John's is probably my favorite trail I have ever run.

Looks good!

How is the heat shield and those fans working?

Amazing. The fans are a must. My wife said Monday they were the only thing that saved her because it was so hot.

The Camp 5 creek bed was fun, but I didn’t know we could dive in sooner than we did. So we missed a lot of good rocks. Captain Crunch was gnarly.

Damn looks ****in rad.

It’s been a good time! :smokin:

Past three days were rain and fog and 50-54 degrees. Finally back to nice weather for the last day of wheelin.

Capn crunch is fun uphill. Never ran it down hill. No interest in Fruity Pebbles. Too many sharp rocks. Hal johns and Kong are fun.
Did you run T-bak or Bikini?

We ran Bikini.

I had to winch up the gatekeeper on T-Back and figured it wasn’t worth going further. xr-nut had a weld break on his coilover mount so I followed him down. His buddy ran T-Back twice. I swear he did each run in 30-50 minutes.

It it the one that runs around in an open boulder field? That **** doesn't excite me at all. The end of quack attack at hoodoo is like that. I don't see how people enjoy a bunch of wobbly boulders.

my two cents.

1-matt and mrs matt are cool people. id camp/wheel/hang out with those two anytime. my wife concurs.

2-his buggy just flat fukn works. its good. there were a few times when i went over something or watched him going after the other big tire buggy in the group, tell my wife that he'll struggle with that and he just rolls over it. works. ****ing. great. every single time i mumbled that.....i had trouble :lmao: like have to drag line trouble. I almost never drag line. I think up there I pulled rope more than Ive ever pulled in the ten years ive owned this buggy. my junk didnt work.

Man, from the pictures, it looks this thing just defies gravity. :flipoff2:

xr-nut saw us sideways. But no pics so I don’t know how sideways we actually were. These shocks pushing off makes everything feel really bad.

Lining up Gen II JHF bypass air shocks for this next year. Also going to 16” in the rear.

She just knows you’re planning on selling her, so it gave you trouble!

Still gotta keep it for RMR next year! :smokin:

Also, I tried using you guys as an excuse to get the wife to move to the midwest. I was like, c’mon it shaves 10 hours driving off AND you know people now. Always a good time wheeling with you guys, and can’t wait for more trips!
