I don't know what kind of winch you have, but the remote mount solenoid boxes like on a m8000 fit perfectly behind the grill and in front of the radiator on the 1st gens with the rounded grills.

Can confirm.
And there’s just enough room between the grill slats to get the plug in.

Is that one of those $400 weld it up yourself bumpers?

Sorta

Its from coastal . But cheaper/faster an a hell of a lot easier than me buying a box of zip wheels an a sheet of 3/16".

Honestly if they were available welded up an ready to go. I woulda bought one. But pickens are slim for something that doesnt look dumb and/or stick way the **** out there:laughing:

Ordered front pads and rotors and the sway bar bushings.

Paid a little more for the breaks at Oh Really's last time in the hopes for some better braking. Turned out that they gave me the brand of pads they were talking about that warp the rotors right away.

Got the grill notched out for the winch. Rattle canned the parts of the bumper that can be seen. Not like I gotta worry about rust:flipoff2:
Need to get a cable made up, also round up a fairlead as mine is MIA
Kinda thinkin about extending the shifter for the winch up to the top of the grill. Not really wanting to hack a fist sized hole in the grill:laughing:

Seal is easy. If the wheel bearing is ****ed, then you need a special tool to remove and replace. There's also either one or two spacers that get pressed onto the axle shaft. They must be reinstalled exactly where they were, or it will leak again.

Most difficult part is remembering how the **** the drum brakes go back together.
