After swapping leafs in the rear of my gladiator, I started kicking around the idea of building a leaf sprung TJ.

Jeeps bone stock with a 4.0 and 5 speed. I purchased it from my scrapper for $1000 and I have a ton of parts laying around, so the other day, I threw it on the lift, said **** it and started cutting.

Build list
5to1 Atlas
78-79 Dana 60, 5.13’s, arb, 35 spline shafts/ox joints
Sterling rear, 5.13’s and an arb
Wrangler leafs up front
Tacoma leafs in the rear
Gen right stretch tank
43” swampers

So I didn’t start taking pictures till I was already on the rear and the front was already mocked up and I built the spring hangers for the front. I’ll snag better pictures of the front today.

Best mockup picture.
I’m less than 10 hours in since I started Wednesday afternoon. Trying to run a business and helping my guys might effect my timeline, but hoping to be done within a couple weeks.

I really like where this is going, which tacoma leafs in front?

Still cant get over the price, thats legit a 18k jeep here

Unfortunately, all progress has stopped.
My wife had surgery and severely underestimated how much it would kick her ass. She’s been bedridden, so I’ve been taking care of the kids, house and our business.

It is on the ground on the 43” tires, atlas is in, front axle is nearly complete.
I was planning on using my genright stretch tank, but it doesn’t give enough stretch. I ordered a motobilt TJ fuel cell that goes behind the back seat.

As soon as progress resumes, I’ll update the thread.

Jeep officially runs and now moves under its own power. Had a 1350 cv driveshaft made for the rear and got most finish welding complete.
Rear disk brake kit is on and now it’s time to do some brake line plumbing.
I’m only getting an hour here and there on it, but trying to keep progress rolling.

Do you get the rear ARB yet? thought about the factory sterling e-locker?

The axles have been laying around for years. They were built for another project and never used so they were ready to drop in with gears and arbs.
Otherwise, I would’ve for sure done e lockers.

What did you do to your wife to get the time for all this work on the Jeep? Do we need to ask for proof of life?:flipoff2:
:lmao:
Actually, the little bit I’ve been able to do was late in the evening when she is passed out. She’s doing much better now, so I should make way more progress in the next couple weeks.
