What did you do to your sxs today?

New tires. Had to stab them with the pallet forks on the skid steer to get the stupid beads to break :shaking:

They had a few miles left in them but was picking up punctures every other day it seemed like

Bumped from 25's to 26's just because. Just dropped off the jack so sitting funny here.

While admiring my work, I noticed the end of the passenger control arm is bent towards the firewall. :shaking:

i did this last night. entered a race after my kids mx. and sent it a bit too hard into the whoops. they had a huge table top and a risky step up that where way fun. i thought for sure it was the step up that would get me, i actually over shot it a little the first lap. also almost lost it up on 2 wheels the first 2 turns. my first time ever racing anything, cant wait to get it fixed and do it again.

i felt it let loose and some of the noise sounded like the belt lost a few lugs... then i smelled gear oil.

this is the second front diff i popped. the other one is still usable so its going off to sandcraft for a rebuild. if i pop it again, i'm doing the smart lok conversion. i need to use my head and be a better driver, rather than just always being dumb and just sending it. either way its fun as hell.

Where are the pics/videos of the race???

i wish. the wife says she cant watch. so only got one pic.

its not a real race or anything, no scoring, six laps and bragging rights... this track has a thurday night mx, that i've taken my kid to twice now. Hannegan Speedway. he loves it! if 3 or more sxs show up and want at it, pay them $20 and when all the bikes are done the sxs's get to go out. i love watching and helping my boy, the environment and everything. this is only the 2nd mx track i've ever been to, but think we'll be getting into it more. my girl is begging to race now too, so i'm pumped about that. i'm hoping we drop the ballet and just do motos.:smokin:

the onle sxs pic i got. i'm the white can am. that pro r is brand new. but not as impressive as i thought it would be. could hits the whoops faster but if me or the other guy had got the hole shot (mine derated for a second, belt slip, never had that happen before) he was neck and neck with a xp turbo, and i know i'm faster than those. next time.

my girl, will be turning 5 end of Sept. i might even be able to get her racing soon. i've got a kdx50 too, but it has a broken shift drum i got to get fixed. she already knows she wants to be #1

next race is aug 10th. and i sent out my non-exploded front diff to sandcraft yesterday for a 'bombproof rebuild' and ditching the viscolok for a torque locker. hopefully i get it back in time. i met them, sandcraft, down in Glamis this past new years. was the middle of a sand storm and they invited us in their trailer, gave us beers and a driveline part we needed- they wouldn't even take our money. talked to them then about sending my diff to them and he said if i drop a note in the box and mention the sand storm he'd do the work himself and get it turned around asap. so i got my fingers crossed. if it doesn't show up in time, i'm still goign to run, will just be 2wd.

i've got a learning curve to get over too. all i ever ride is sand and desert. you can slide around. this track is sticky, i think taking the corners wide like i did was slow, i need to get to the inside and get out of the corner quick as possible. i cant slide and carry wheel speed like i'm used to bombing the N glamis/ havasu desert.
i'm not sure what to do about the whoops, i could get any rhythm and slammed everyone of them. the pro r did the same thing but he has allot more/ better suspension, the xp turbo guy just went super slow thru them.

i'm thinking the sxs and moto stuff are going to start costing me allot more than it already does.:lmao:

I added some lights tonight. A couple pods in front and one in back. Installed the overhead kit that includes a bus bar and the molded cover that has cut outs for switches. Routing wiring in these is a pain in the ass. The added lighting will be nice for hunting and if I decide to run a trap line later this winter.

I'm sure they will take care of it. I've been a dealer for a little over a year and they have been stellar with any warranty issues.

Did a diff fluid change on the talon before the windrock trip at the end of the month. Front was uneventful ...... the rear on the other hand. Diff hasn't ever made noise or any indication that there was a problem.... about 2 table spoons of "fluid" came out. The rest of the **** was severely waterlogged baby****....

Clearly my fault for not checking sooner but I flushed the ****er out with atf and diesel fuel until she ran clean. Then topped it off and drained it with diff fluid once more. Ring gear looks fine bearings all still feel tight with no play. So we're gonna send it with fresh fluid. On the bright side atleast its the cheap end to replace or rebuild if it does blow.

Hopefully there's a honda dealer close to windrock if she blows lol. Gonna be there a week.

What are you running for fluids in the diffs and subtrans?

Just the honda brand 80/90 in the diffs. They didn't have a full service kit at the dealer so ordered off Amazon. Hopefully no more surprises.

Next time you change the fluids, use Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof (red) in both diffs and the sub-transmission. I ran a season and a half worth of races with that stuff and all my gears and bearings still look and feel new. The 10/30 engine oil they recommend for the sub-trans is a joke and synthetic gear oil like Redline is a much better option.

A 2012 900cc RZR worth $4.5k ish?

Guy wants to trade tomorrow. ~250hrs on it, 2500 miles. Indoor stored. Has some wear and tear from the woods which I'd expect.

Said most of the **** peeling off 8s from washing it.

I can see why people aren't into 4x4s nearly as much anymore vs 20+ years ago (Jeeps, Broncos, pickups, etc). That thing is pretty much a factory built tube buggy.

I had a 2013 Ranger crew cab with the Yanmar for a while. Was ok, but was hot, dusty, loud, pretty slow, seat was pretty much a milk crate with foam.
Fine for chore work, but wasn't that enjoyable off road.

Built a bed rack for the Commander out of a HF hitch rack I had laying around cuz I’m too cheap to buy one! The Rubbermade Action Packer boxes are a perfect fit.

What's a good brand for adding power steer on a Rzr?

I used a Super ATV kit on my 900s that didn't have power steering. hardest part was getting the damn steering shaft off the rack splines.. Made a huge difference in driving it..
