Do you enjoy them? They seem to be the hot new trend like YouTube is trying to be Instagram. I'm just curious cause seems everyone decided to post a ton of these now and they are all the same as the shot they post on FB and Instagram. Personally I could do without them. Kinda screws up my feed making me just shut it off instead of watching.
 
I rarely touch them. And it isn't a "natural" trend but something that YT is forcing upon creators especially ones that "earn a living" there. Something like "You HAVE to post shorts or you get paid less".

If I'm looking at hot chicks online, I prefer there to be dicks. :flipoff2:

If I'm looking at Jeeps/welders/stunts, 12 second bites aren't worth my time.

I had heard that somewhere. I just looked at one of the bigger channels I watch. Not a single short in the past year.
 
I get sucked into watching them every now and then. Mostly click bait though, attentions whores mostly

Sort of. It's not that you get paid less, it's just that the ad revenue is now spread between regular videos and shorts, so in theory your regular video now makes you less money than it did last year.

I saw a pretty good video speculating on this subject about a week ago, from CaptainSparklez:




Give it a month, I'm sure there will be plenty of videos breaking it all down.

One of the larger channels I watch "The Quartering" pissed and moaned about shorts and how they were being forced upon creators.

Also, keep in mind that just because a channel is large doesn't mean it is relying upon youtube checks. ;)

is there some odd number that's magical or some shit? Seems all these small channels are putting up like 4-5 a day now. Big channels put up way less for sure.
 
fucking hate that shit, you can't full screen or comment or anything

figured out on my videos that you can get them out of that basket if you set them to "age restricted"

if it is filmed "vertical" and less than a minute or two, it is locked into that format, you can not disable it (without setting the video to age-restricted)
 
YT shorts can nuzzle my schwedde 'taint - I stopped watching them entirely. On the channels I watch, they were an annoyance until YT put them on a separate tab where I can be blissfully ignorant of their existence. Now that I can ignore them entirely, I have no problem with 'em :laughing:
 
I don't even bother, even if it's a channel I'm subscribed to. It's a waste of time to see some snippet that really doesn't provide something I'd enjoy or find info in.
