Win!

I remember this, and the outrage tied to it, somehow that sho was going to make the 69 charger extinct.

roughly just under 19K Chargers built
And near 245K Camaros says a quick search of google, so these numbers are not surprising.

Also google estimates about 300 Chargers could have been wrecked in 7 seasons.

but even without that, Chargers were well below Camaro production numbers so it's not at all surprising what prices are.

No way man :shaking: - it's because Dukes wrecked a few hundred. Dodgetards said so.

Look@ Porsche 550 Spyders - James Dean wrecked one & now they're stupid expensive.

That can't be due to lower production numbers & comparative rarity, right? :flipoff2:

 I thought about looking that up, but... Oh look, a chicken.

A family friend sold the show a car. I got to go with him when he delivered it. They were filming at Saugus speedway that day. I made it in the show sitting in the stands. That was pretty much the highlight of my life at that point.

these are the kids that are dumb enough to think that it was just one car, you can watch the thing fall apart on screen on most of the jumps
I could see young kids not knowing, And thinking there is only one.
But ya, watching the show, They killed every one they drove.

At the time the show was being filmed (79-85), muscle cars were fairly cheap. Gas was expensive and everyone was looking for hondas and such to get around. One of the reasons the charger was chosen for the show was they could get them cheap.

Anyone here currently collecting those real cool 2005 sporty car models? yeah, didnt think so. But maybe another 25 years from now...

ETA: They had a fleet of chargers all painted the same. Most were stripped and clapped out with 30ft paint jobs. The couple nice ones were reserved for interior shots and just driving around. The bomber ones were used for the jumps. It isnt like they were snatching up super nice ones just to smash em. TV show budgets were miniscule back then.

cant remember if it was the General Lee, or maybe The Fall Guy
jump, and the shit just comes apart in slo-mo

but always functional in the next scene:laughing:

I remember laying the on living room floor watching that with suspect as a kid :grinpimp:

The Fall guy truck and Rocky's truck from Rockford Files, Classic truck jumps.

Surely someone has built a Charger with shock hoops out the roof that can actually survive those jumps?

The movie was the Stunt Man I think. Had the rocket car for the final stunt. Fuck me I'm old...

The Fall Guy truck always held up well from what I remember of the show.......

They jump that truck pretty good in the opening scene of the show and it didn't look like it fucks up the truck all that bad. :smokin:

In some of the clips, you can see there was no motor in it, or Mid engine?? Not sure all the details but they went to a lot of work to hide a lot of work.
