With this protest (violent riots) crap going down nationwide, who’s changing up their PPE? Added a spare 9mm mag, and my .300 Blackout pistol and body armor are going back in my car. Biggest issue around here would be them blocking traffic. Not a big deal if you’re in the front, but could be if you get boxed in by other cars.

True

Not hard to find out

Called my local on a new sig 1911 carry, can’t get it so I’ll wait. Totally content with mine and misses edc anyways, so no biggy.

I live in a very small town in Pennsylvania where the few black people behave better than the average white person. If they riot they will do it politely and have my support. If for some reason I have to go to Pittsburgh I will be armed to the teeth.

My EDC hasn’t changed for years but my backup switches around...this week capacity was high on my list.

I’m nowhere near that shit ether but have to get within a couple miles of the city for work so I like to be prepared. Now that they like to block highways and gridlock traffic you could find yourself in the middle of something petty quickly.

If you live somewhere where you feel you need armor and spare mags, you may want to consider relocation.

This. When the rioting started in 2017, I picked up and moved out of downtown. We sold our last urban house in March. Gotta see the writing on the wall.

I had to look up "EDC". I don't need that around here.

If I bring a fire arm 20 miles south or west I'm an automatic felon. I just try to stay away from those states.

Been seriously eyeballing 1911s lately.

Meh. Medium sized nice town in the south. People blocking traffic where you might need to exit the vehicle is the largest concern. Not likely but I wear a helmet when I ride a motorcycle.

I live in the burbs but threw a shitty 12ga in the daily driver when governors started using words like "lockdown" 2 months ago

No change for normal day to day. Go close to the big cities I might carry and extra mag. But I am not trying to get into a sustained engagement, I would be trying to just GTFO of wherever. I can’t imagine protestors chasing armed people if the armed people are not posing a threat to them directly. Most of those type of protests are full of non-violent people that get caught up in mob mentality. Having been in pioneer square one New Years when a riot started, we had already grabbed our dates are were heading out just as everybody massed together and about 20 seconds before the shot was fired. I got to see first hand how a crowd of lemmings acts when someone breaks a shot. They either fucking froze or ran away from the gun. Cops later arrested said dumbass, rightfully so, for firing a shot. He was also part of the small group of agitators that started the riot.

If I have to even break a shot mistakes have probably already been made. Situational awareness and trusting your gut will get you out of most any situation. That could mean not going to work for a day. I called in “sick” once during the WTO riots in Seattle. Turns out we all had the same bug that day and came back to the job the next week because safety.

I live and work "out in the country" so I'm not to concerned in my daily activities

Me and Mrs had to go to the Sac airport to pick up our daughter day before yesterday. Mrs was concerned about "protesters" blocking the freeway, which they have done before. She asked me what would we do if that happened. I told her we would deal with the inconvenience until they try getting to us, then all rules go right out the window

Can confirm. Biggest issue we have where I am are the heroin addicts and tourists crowding the streets.

Still don't leave home without being armed though.

Few things made their way out of the safe and into reach. But I have two dozen other things that concern me more than a bunch of basement dwellers looking to burn some cop cars.

This happened downtown here yesterday, middle of the day, I had no idea anything was going on. Story I heard is cops were keeping one lane open for cars to pass but this truck chose to use the other lane and drive through the protestors. Had the cops not been there, I wouldn’t have been surprised if a curb stomping ensued. Being a white guy in a vehicle looking to get the hell out of there wouldn’t have been a great situation.

Honestly, if confronted like that in my vehicle and surrounded by a mob I would probably not have stopped... people screaming, ranting, beating your vehicle with objects is a tell tale sign of what happens if you get out to confront them. After witnessing and living through the LA 92 riots (lived in Long Beach at the time), I would mash the pedal and keep on trucking too. Fawk that. And god help the prosecution if I am selected to sit on a jury for something like that.

I lost all my guns in a boating accident:(

the penalty for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit is a misd, in every state i've bothered to look up :rasta:

talking to one of my buddies in Richmond, he is planning on doing what he can to avoid everything and is adding extra magazines to his daily carry

I swapped out my .327 SP101 for the hipower and an extra mag.

I live about 40 miles from downtown and the riots in salt lake, but work a few miles from where they took place, and have two county jails, county sheriffs headqaurters, and the emergency dispatch enter within a couple blocks. I’m not overly concerned, but it won’t hurt to upgrade capacity for a bit.

Live in VT can and do carry, only go to NH another semi free state. So no not changing my EDC.
