What's new

Which one of you got a new dump truck?

What does it have in it? A 370 or 429 I'd guess.

Yeah it could be, but Ford put a lot of 370s in dump trucks from '77 to '91, and 429s for buses and vocational trucks b/c it's 4-bolt. My schoolbuses (full sized) as a kid had 429-4V on the grill. 370 has super-thick cylinder walls (de-bored 429) and you can floor it everywhere you got 100% of the time for 200,000 miles with no problem. All 460s are 2-bolts and their heavy-duty work was mostly motor homes.

I've always been kind of fascinated with Ford's Industrial/Vocational engines, now they have a Godzilla.

I can't be the only one wondering what axles it has..

Nope. Just you.

It aint 4wd, and is some big ass Rockwell rear axle probably with like 4.88 gears.

Edit: now that I think about it, its probably a 2spd rear.

That’s exactly the first dump truck I learned to drive. 429 4v 2 speed axle. Would get fucking stuck anywhere if not loaded.
