Irate Motorcycle Group.

What you do to your MC today?

Went to add balance beads to my beta. Front went fine....rear not so much. Couldn't find my valve core tool and just used a small flathead. Broke the valve core and now have a new tube and a rear tire coming.

Rode today. Got to finally put the sherco in a few slightly fucked up situations. Its weird. The power delivery is rather boring and is far from impressive. Yet the SOB seems to find traction way easier than my 300 and it just keeps pulling! The more I ride it the more impressed I am with it:smokin:

Our group of 5 guys turned into about 15 guys. Couple of us ended up dragging a guy with a smoked clutch and a dead battery back to the trucks and then did our own ride.

Kinda shitty though. Between fire/logging/ and then them cleaning up after the fire. The majority of that area is pretty fucked up. Doubt I will be back

Well sumbitch:laughing:. Thats a lotta bike for $7k

Got a few orders in to set up the new bike and outfit the XR for dual sporting a little better.
This brings the total dollar amount spent on dirt bikes in the last 2 months to about 15k. Pics incoming later. :homer:

Did the first strip down of the brand new '24. Going to grease all chassis bearings, swap to an 18" rear wheel, install a desert tank, flag handguards, folding levers, skid plate, 14t front sprocket, ORing chain, custom graphics on a different set of plastics, and probably just go ahead and get the suspension done while I have it torn apart.

I'm a :homer: and broke a fuel line fitting while trying to disassemble the fuel line to put the desert tank in. My replacement got delayed by the massive snow storm that hit NM last week. So I didn't get to reassemble the bike this weekend and ride it sunday, but at least I got the 18" rear laced up and a tire mounted and ready to go. I'll probably throw a thick tube in the front before the first shakedown as well.

Soon as my fuel line gets here, I can put the tank all the way together and get the plastics and 90% of the bike wrapped up. Also picking up my suspension tomorrow. Fingers crossed for break-in and shakedown this weekend!

I'm not patient enough to get a rim that true:laughing:

Only downside to running the tusk wheels is that the spokes are a different thread than the oem stuff. So if you need a spoke or a nipple or something, your old junk wont jive with it..

Yeah, I was already going to have that issue anyway since I went from a 19 to an 18 wheel. Usually I buy a spare tusk spoke pack to keep around. They're only like $50, and on my last bike it seemed like I was breaking spokes because I was over-torquing them anyway. We'll see how this one fairs at 44in-lbs

44in lbs? Now hows that work when it comes to trueing a wheel?
The wheel in my video up above was taken about a minute after finishing up tightening all of them to 44in lbs. I have a Tusk spoke torque wrench, if you're asking how I actually did it. I honestly wouldn't have any idea how to true a wheel without it.

Just seems like spokes are always all a lil different in tension. So torquing them all the same just seems so backwards to me.

I personally use an iterative approach. Get it straight as I can at first just eyeballing. Torque all to 15 in lbs. Make some adjustments. Torque all to 30 in lbs. By this point it's getting pretty straight. Make a few more adjustments. Torque all to 44 in lbs. Adjust if necessary, though this time I didn't have to. (probably because brand new rim)

Got my fuel line in, finished the desert tank install. Slapped it back together with the new livery and plastics.

Then went and installed the 14t front sprocket, x ring chain, skid plate, hand guards, and ARC levers. Switched the start and kill buttons from left to right because I just like it like that. Was a thing I picked up from talking to Destry Abbott, and for some reason I really like the way it feels. Have an hour of break-in time on it. Only 30 more minutes, then oil and filter change, and with any luck, get to go beat on it this weekend. :usa:

Well I got into this old crap this morning that old timer was right no probably no shims installed on the crank . Going to send it out to him next week after I get it cleaned up .
