What's new

what tree is this?

Around here the city's trees jacked all of the city's sidewalks :homer:
I grew up in the Milwaukee, Wi. area and in the city and most suburbs the local cities planted trees in the areas between the sidewalks and curbs. As the trees grew the roots heaved up the sidewalks. The cities spent huge $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ fixing that.

One of our son-in-laws owned an older home and it had a tree in the front yard. The roots got into the sewer pipe and broke it.
He ended up renting a backhoe to dig it up and replace it.

Pipe was probably leaking. I've seen copper wire run next to pipe to help keep roots away.
