what to do in your state for fun

Bridge surfing. Works anywhere you have a bridge and a decent flowing river under it.

Take a chunk of plywood (preferably one acquired at night) cut into approximately 3’x5’ with rounded corners on the front, use cutoffs to make keel, tie on about 50’ of rope. Tie off to bridge rail and ride. During spring runoff it can be quite fun. And cold.

Michigan U.P. snowmobile and ice fish in the winter. 300+ waterfalls, fishing, mosquitos, black fly's, deer fly's and ticks the rest of the year.

Our section of California (central coast) is pretty touristy.

I do actually surf, and it's good, but that takes a lot of hours as a beginner until you start having real fun with it. Aside from that, we've got some amazing hikes and camping down in Big Sur, some good mountain biking all over(but Santa Cruz is the best), some tourist stuff that's worth it like the Monterey Bay Aquarium or the redwoods, and plenty of breweries, wineries and good restaurants if that's what you're into. Oh yeah, and if you're into spending a lot of money on golf- Pebble Beach has you covered.

Downside is getting here is harder since there are no major airports less than an hour drive away, and stuff is expensive because California.

WA was great, but has a massive campaign to lock up all the cool shit and make you pay an arm and a leg to access the remnants with the rest of the sheep herd. Still some good hidey holes if you care to go look, but is a completely different place than it was 20 years ago.

Done a bunch before everything and everyone moved here.
Now it is impossible to avoid crowds, all the nice places are crowded.

One could take a car/bike into canyons nearby and let it rip - not anymore. Ton of dipshits riding bicycles 2 to 3 wide.
Or a fellow pulling a small fishing boat doing 30mph for the duration (will not let others pass). God forbid they pull over...

So I bide my time for my opportunity to invade Montana for a couple weeks. Would love to make it a motorcycle trip.
Flathead Lake area, and then off to Glacier National Park.

After that I would like to visit with 64Trvlr and camp/atv in his neck of the woods.

Utah.... Nothing to do here.... Only show in town are the Morman chicks....
