What's new

Well hopefully i haven't dug a hole too deep on this one. New to me diesel pusher.

Good to hear its coming along

Props to you for having the balls to drop 15k then the tow home, lead, follow, or get out of the way:grinpimp:

No super exciting pics to post, but that shiny new FASS system is installed (that return line was a mother$&%# to run up the chassis to the tank with every panel covered with a dresser panel) but got it done. Converted all the interior lighting to LED, sorting some other small electrical gremlins but nothing major so far.

Big news for the day...... after the fass install, and pre priming the filters. I got to fire the ol girl up and take it for a cruise. She's moving under her own power boys! Goes into gear well, shifts through all 6 flawlessly, goes into reverse. Stops extremely well too. Let it warm up for a long time before driving it. Not even a hiccup on the road. Rode like a caddy to boot. Was doing 75 before I realized it. Doesn't feel like a behemoth driving it either.

To be honest, really impressed with the build quality and the cabin quiet-ness going down the road. Drives like a new rig (as it should with only 18xx miles on the clock).

Pretty stoked after today. Just need to go get some propane in it to test the few remaining systems I haven't been able to run yet. Then it'll pretty much be camp ready.

What did you use in that fixture? The fluorescent light is the only thing I haven't converted to LED
Cut the ballast out (after squeezing and removing the center metal cover), tie all for wires at one end to the 12v+ tie all for at the other end of the fixture to 12v- and then use these:

you may be able to find them elsewhere for cheaper. Just for reference.

I drove it 15 miles to the closest truck stop to get propane today. Just cruises down the road so nice. Got there and they were completely out of propane. Apparently a national shortage of propane? Who knew.... told me to call before trying again.

Working on converting the closets to bunk beds for kids. Trying to do as much in oak to match the rest of the bus (honey oak). Going well so far. Saved 1/2 the upper and lower cabinets on the end, and a 1/4 cabinet under the lower bunk. False walls near the head includes wiring for 2 outlets (for phone charging) and wiring for 12v reading lamps. I like where it's going.

Looks awesome, I had to double take to figure out exactly what was happening.

Thanks. A lot of changes and a ton of work. Tried to box in the vent pipe today, wasn't going the way I wanted. Ended up throwing parts away in frustration. Will try again later. Just wasn't turning out as nice as the rest of it. And that's the problem with wood. I can't just weld it back together.

Maybe just a crown mold type section full length across the bunk vs a dedicated cover.

I am a wood butcher, my weakest skill for sure. This is looking good.

Sanded, stained, sealed and filled. Modified the lower louvered door to fit the new storage compartment. Got the lights, outlet covers and doors reinstalled. Now waiting on foam for the mattresses, curtains, and I have to build a ladder to the top bunk yet, but its getting there.

If you start getting a mouse piss smell in the cargo holds, drop the false ceiling between the frame rails. They make homes up there and use the cable runs for highways. There is a dead space above the propane tank that you can get to from the hold after it on the P-side. Only way to access it and guaranteed to have a couple dead mice in it.

There is also no insulation on the floor, easy to put some in while your there.

Been fortunate. Where it was stored for years had multiple cats. I had to wash cat piss outta the engine bay. But I'll take that over rodent contamination. But only found one small nest in it anywhere (and doesn't look like they lasted long) so the cats kept the rodents out of it. We don't have mice around my place either thankfully.

Full reseal on the roof (thermal epdm coating) plus lap sealant on all joints. 2 new fantastic fans with Maxx air covers (let's you keep the vents open while driving, also keeps rain debris and leaves out of the open vents) still waiting on 2 new ac covers, but got the ac's working.

Man, I ordered the covers Friday, they showed up Sunday morning much to my surprise. Got em tossed up yesterday. That completes the roof. I would say the last remaining cover was pretty brittle. Also pulled all the window valances inside, and pulled the couch for a quick recovering. It's in sad shape fabric wise (and uglier than sin)... also did a thorough cleaning and got the last fan in the galley working (I'm a dumbass apparently). So now everything works. Sweet titties!

Before and after the reupholstery on the kitchen chairs. Waiting on the wife to sew the curtains and I have a couple new tv's to install and that will wrap the inside (at least for now). Managed to squeeze in a shit load of maintenance today too. (No pictures of my ugly ass covered in gear oil for you degenerates). Serviced the generator and washed the generator bay. Drain and refill on that massive differential (only 3 gallons of 85w140 in the diff) and a full oil and filter change on the 8.3 cummins (6 gallons 15w40) a coolant filter change, an air cleaner replacement and that brings me to about as mechanically sou d as I can make it. Just about ready for summer travels (around the block with these diesel prices).

Buddy of mine had one of these. Same color even. Put hundreds of thousands of miles on his. Travelled all over the country, for years. Wrecked his three times that I know of, and each time it got put back together. ..

Miss that dude. RIP.

(actually, that could even be the same rig, as it ended up down in Cali after he died.)

Nope. This one only has 13k miles on it. Was never hardly driven.

Here's the first TV install. Insignia 24c flat screen. Mini Nintendo with 620 games installed on the back of the TV (controller cords are short) TV drops down inside the perimeter of the bed so it doesn't impede walking around the bed while down. When up I can walk under it with no issues (I'm 6' tall, so decent clearance) dvd player in the old TV hole. Need to build a shelf so I can stash an organized box of dvds in the hole and will be decent night entertainment for my wife and I. One more to do in the living room area, and eventually the head knocker TV over the drivers area will go away and I'll shorten the cubby for storage over the driver.

wonder how many li'l TVs like that they make with DC inputs
because it just feels wrong to run that guy off an inverter when it's just gonna drop into a DC power supply 1" from the power plug, just feed it the DC sauce direct, you know?
