We became “Empty Nesters” today

We emptied the nest July 2019. It really is a different house after 22 years of raising two boys and suddenly silence. I took quite a few months before we could get to our new normal. It feels a lot like when we were dating 28 years ago, but not quite as exciting! The new normal is looking for that excitement and getting it back.

We became empty nesters back in 2002 when our youngest went off to college and never came back. The oldest left in 2000.

Our friends kept asking us if we "miss them" or if my wife has shed tears. Does the house "feel empty".

Nope......LOL.

We transitioned really easily. We did a good job raising our sons and when the time came to boot them off on their own, we didn't worry at all. No regrets...

Always wear protection when cooking anything in the kitchen. Or you might end up cooking a sausage you didn't want to cook.

There is still good naked and bad naked, bedroom good, opening pickles bad.

Looking back, we didn’t coddle our girls at all. We made sure they had the necessary skills to be functioning young adults, not these whiners I see on tv every news cycle

We are very proud of our girls 😊
