What's new

Was looking for tallish, skinny tires. Found some.

Got the tires mounted. Could not find the friggin beads I have for them so used weights. Took a bunch on most of them.

35" at 40 psi. Will get a better measurement after I finish lift and have four on the truck.

Buddy bought a set last week when they were $40 off per tire. Won’t have them on a truck until next year for testing though.

Wonder how stiff/firm the side walls are.

What's a center bar?

Two i have mounted on front seem stiff. I guess, being that he is a toyota guy, the elongated piece on lugs counts as center bar for him.

All right, got them mounted on truck and drove them on road for a bit. Still not sure if they are radial or bias. Stickers and TireStreet.com say radial. Tire has nothing about radial molded on it. I like the look of them. They seem to drive well. Running 21.5psi , 6000lbs M1008/ K30 . I did 4"tuff county springs all around, Rancho 5000 shocks. So a lot of changes at once. 2-3 hours of riding around. They have a pleasant hum, will be loud later. My fucking phone pics will not load. I will get some with a camera.

Btt

Still in the same boat. I was starting to think about just going with the 34x10.5 ko2, but in typical BFG fashion, they're no where near 34" :homer: probably actually shorter than what I have.

The 35x10. 5 kenda is so tempting, especially for under $200 ea. But I'm probably dreaming thinking they'll remotely fit.

One thing I found is that nitto and Toyo make 285/75r17s in a c sidewall. Which works a lot better when you put them on a smaller rig.

Just been trying to find comparison pics, actual height vary from brand to brand so much.

Before I got around to testing 35" Accelera Badak X-Treme I found they now have 37x11.5/17 so being weak of mind I ordered 4 of them. Just happened to have17x8 wheels and some 8oz bags of ceramic beads on hand. Got them mounted on Friday. Rode around some in town. They measured 37 and a couple of whack marks tall with 31psi. Tread was running even on ground.
Saturday took truck 98 miles to Hollorwood Park and rode around on some bunny trails for awhile.
Aired tires to 20psi in front and 18.5psi in rear. No beadlocks,no spare, just a test run sorta. Tires pulled well.
Nephew brought his golf cart over and we followed him around on some rougher trails, couple of muddy, rutted out banks, creek running.
Tires pulled well, was able to get up on ridge between ruts at will. Did not get in any deep mud. Went down a couple of fairly steep bobsled run hills and when going back up the tires pulled very well. So far they are impressive. Time will tell.

Thanks, I need some tires for my kid's J truck project.

I have H2's for it, so the LT 37x11.50 R17/6 124L seems like the right tire for it.

Really need some tires before winter.

The newer tacoma guys are all over the 35x10.5 kendas. They say the narrow width makes them very easy to fit even compared to 285s on the same wheels.

Smart thing would be the 33x10.5s, but smart is boring

Anyone else pick up a set? Is eBay the best place for cheapie tires these days?

These just moved up to the top of my list. I have been looking for a skinny set of 35s to stuff on some OEM 15x7 ford wheels.

How do they do on the road, need to look just as good at the mall as I do in the woods. :flipoff2:

Just picked up the at2s for my wife's 4runner. I was worried about the 35 so I ordered 33s for now. Plus I want to re gear first. 800 bucks to my door. After mounting I belive I could fit 35s with just a bmc.

So far I like them. 50k mile warranty 3 peak snow rating, and they look alot more aggressive than the picture you see of them. I want to try some 35s on my dually. Hopefully they will make 37s s

Well I just ordered the 35x10.5s

Hair over $800 for 4 on Walmart. Sucks to read about people getting them for $130 ea last year, but oh well. Seems thats what off brand tire companies do. I'd rather pay $800 for tires that have good reviews than $600 for tires that could be trash.

Got the 35x10.5 kendas mounted up and on the rig. As the new tacomas guys have been saying, they aren't hard to fit being skinny, especially on stock offset wheels. They tuck inside the fenders in the rear and barely rub the bumper. On the front I folded over the pinch seam and they seem to clear OK, actual trails will be the true tell all, but as long as they don't rub the firewall just turning in a parking lot, I'm good.

Pics are not wanting to up load.

how about these?

Any updates on the skinny tire front? SAM-14 Interco Swampers are now +$500USD each, almost $800/tire in Canada

Looking for a retro style tire for the Willys but I’m not paying that…
