What did you guys think of Vances's speech tonight?

Personally I think he did a great job.

It's even more impactfull if you ever saw his movie about his life (which I highly recommend) It made his mom being there even bigger of a deal.

The only part that bugged me was when his said that his grandmother had 16-17 (I forget the number) "loaded" firearms around the house when she died. He should have thought that wording out better.

Why would that bug you? It was funny, many of us can relate. We want politicians that aren't going to sugarcoat the truth don't we?

For a seasoned attorney, I think he stumbled a couple of times. All in all I think he did pretty good.


I may add more tomorrow after I've had some time to digest and hear the MSDNC rebuttal to see how good I think he actually did.

Well....I don't know how you grew up...but I grew up around firearms.

My grandfather (Who was one of the greatest generation) had his house FILLED with firearms....they were everywhere... 16 guns around the house??? Laughable.

He beat this into my head from a very young age:

Paraphrasing here.... "EVERY gun is loaded, and anyone who says a gun is "loaded" or "unloaded" is a complete fucking idiot and should not be allowed around firearms."

So from my point of view, anyone who tells me a firearm is loaded or unloaded is a fucking idiot, and I need to treat every firearm as if it is loaded.

Geez, I'm a Marine vet, and that didn't even register on my radar. I keep firearms both loaded and unloaded. Guess we know what camp I'm in 😂

Didn't know that was from his speech but seem like a click bait statement. Doesn't tell me anything about polices, etc, etc. I don't get why it would be a positive point in a speech or a talking point.

I'm not sure about the guy overall. Doesn't seem to bring much to the table for the folks that might be in the middle or on the edge to the platform.

It's intimating he is pro 2A, just like is maw, maw without straight up saying it.

He is trying to grab the people who feel the current admin made them promises of prosperity and fucking lied.

I didn't hear him say anything that isn't already a talking point, but he is a husband of a minority and has two mixed race children. The D's will have a harder time ripping on him just because of those facts.
 
I liked his speech. I think it was approachable and honest.

I think he will be a good counterpoint for Gavin (when/if, of course, Joe is kicked off the ticket and Camalface takes his place). :flipoff2:

This. My grandpa and many his age had nice antique display cabinets for their guns and memorabilia in the den or living room. Not locked and set up for viewing.

So what is the statute of limitations on opinions? Or are we dreading up things back to when we're teenagers again like cancel culture?

I know nothing about Vance other than what I read here. But a lot... a LOT of people were Never Trumpers before 2016 and changed their mind over his administration.

I'm calling bullshit on there being more thieves today, unless you're gonna play statistics games like a liberal and lump in retail theft in cities that don't prosecute.

That said, the parts of the country where you can just sell shit to some dude who'll drive it to Mexico and fence it there with no extra hops in between are probably worse than they were back in the 80s so I understand your confusion. :flipoff2:

So I clicked the vid posted above. I dont like his face. It looks very much like a dick sucking face. I dont like his voice, it grated on my nerves. reading here he's a lawyer too? :shaking:

But to be fair, Im at a point where I think ALL politicians are lying, self serving shit bags, who would stab you in your face for a buck. And they should ALL be treated as such.

Vance talked about that in an interview. He said he believed all the media hype about trump being like hitler, a dictator, get us in a war, etc. Vance said that he was wrong after seeing trumps actions while he was president.
Whether he is telling the truth ir is just spitting out words to get the VP position is up to the individual to believe.
 
May have misheard him, kids were running around late when I had it on.

Did he say he would have done what pence didn't on J6? Or did I only catch part of it. Seems like bait to the Libs
