That's a beauty. I've never seen a shield on a MH in person. Kinda reminded me of

That could be a steal or a $13,000 nightmare depending on what is wrong with it. Doesn't start now and ran when parked are very vague.

if it were close to me, I'd be buying it right now.

more on topic; I started with a 10yr old truck camper (had it for 3yrs), then to a 3yr old 25' bumper pull toy hauler (had it for 3yrs too), and now a 35' fifth wheel toy hauler, I picked up new early last year. it has one not very deep slide, never not been able to puch it out at any truck stop or parking lot. I'm super happy with the 5th wheel. having littles 5 and 6yo, i love that they are all the way in the back and I sleep up front, and the know their not allowed up the stairs up front to my room. and I took out the recliners so there is a 12ft x 8ft open area for the kids to play on the floor. otherwise there was always a bottle neck where they played on the floor or the dining table was always toys games and coloring books.

ideal for traveling would be a motorhome, its what i'll probably get next. but for right now everywhere we go, we do one or two day trips with the kids and other family. for example, when we go to st Anthonys, Id. we do a day trip to Yellowstone or Jockson hole... when at coos Bay, Or. go to the red woods, or the wild game farm.

so to bring toys, have a camp and still be able to take all day trips from base camp... the 5th is the best option for us.

(also I tow it around with a 6.2l gasser ford with the 430gear tow package. would be nice to have the power of a diesel, but not for all the added cost. beyond all the obvious costs diesel adds, to my surprise every trip so far i've paid less in fuel per trip than the oil burners. I would for sure go diesel for a motorhome, but I would also be toying a large enclosed trailer, or maybe a stacker, so would def be called for)

Just stumbled on this thread... My Bird in the classifieds.
just to get you up to speed on Birds,... NOT a school bus.. built by coach works on a purpose built air ride chassis , like a Kenworth or Peterbuilt, bus is rated to tow 15k same engine in a HEMMIT. Central AC (3 UNITS) Forced hot water base board heat with heated underbody storage and tanks
(AKA the arctic package) All birds came with a blue box .. prints and wiring schematics, they are built to go. big power will roll at 85 mph all day
300 gallon fuel tank , 140 gallon fresh water , 2) 75 gallon waste , Bumpin stereo , no slides=no rattles
All solid red oak cabinets, real tile floor .

I would run fast and far from that one. I'm less worried about the not starting after being in storage for 6 months then the salvage title. He says it will be given a rebuilt title... nobody gets "given" a rebuilt title. Once you get it running, this thing has to go through an inspection of the repair to get classified as a rebuilt status. This involves having all the paperwork from the shop that performed the repair and affidavits as such. So now you're stuck chasing down paperwork from a repair done an untold number of years ago from another shop and having them stand behind their work for someone who is not their customer in order for him to get a rebuilt title issued.

Budget of 35K, what to stay away from, what to look out for, what's good ?
I'd prefer gas .
Stay away from wood covered in a fiberglass sheet.
Stay away from conversions unless it's professional.
Don't buy anything super old like 60's 70's
My rule is aluminum or full fiberglass shell roof.
Diesel pusher with a engine room is the easiest to maintain.
5.9,8.3 cummins,Allison trans was used in everything and parts are plentiful.
The old mechanical injection is much more reliable than the newer ecm style.
Slides are a relatively new option and won't be found on too many built with actual metal.
They don't work great if you use them regularly and can be a leaky broke down sumbitch.

What kind of gallons per mile does it get?

Highway at 70 flat towing an XJ I got 6 ...Keep in mind you are moving a bus thats 33k lbs empty..
Running the "airline road " rt going down east about 5 , its a had call to calculate cause I camped off grid alot and ran the generator ( 15kw Kubota) probably 3 hours a day.

Its not really any worse fuel wise than the POS P-30 chassis with a 454 I had as far as fuel , but this will pull a house and stop

You don't think $15k plus having to pay a tow company to come flip it back on its wheels and then haul it off on a landoll isn't a steal? :lmao:
Jesus, check some of his other ads. This lunatic is in a whole nother world.

Dealership that got hit by the tornado, and paid by insurance, minus deductible...

The wrecked pontoon boat is definitely the topper. "Engine alone cost us $40k, steal the whole thing for $28k or we will sell you 2 for $48k!" :lmao:

You know damn well those engines are junk or they would be pulling them themselves, fixing "cosmetic damage" and flipping them on FB or CL to recoup some of their losses. :shaking:
