Ultra4 Legends of the Fall @ Disney, OK/MidAmerica in Jay, OK

Bailey led the race for a while and then Wayland led for a while. One flat tire each took them off the podium.
Any insight on Waylands decision to bypass the pits with that shredded tire?

Yes. The previous lap he pulled into the pits thinking he had a flat, and did not have a flat. Radio was dead from the water crossings so he couldn’t talk out or hear back. Since he had already stopped once with no flat he decided maybe it was in his head so passed the pits. That tire didn’t make it very far.

Then he pulled over and tried to change it on course but couldn’t get the wheel off the car. I think it had gotten caved in and wouldn’t fit over the caliper to get it off.

That sucks.

I'm impressed by how much damage the water did.

Happened to us, Loren Healey, lots of people lost coms from the water.

I had water issues also.

Well if anyone is planning on the Broadview, MT series race next year, I'd think about the water issues there can be several water crossing. Mike Slawson ruined a 45k engine a few years ago.
