Ultra 70 axles by dstrac?

2/3rds the price?
Looks like 9-10k for a dynatrac front end and $7500 for a dstrac axle...not exactly apples to apples comparison of components but close.

Dstrac has free freight or dealers in USA?

I guess if I was building a high $$$$$ project , where there's thousands of dollars tied up all over the rig...Id pick dynatrac.

So you’re saying rod ends, axle shafts, u-joints, seals, calipers, etc, are proprietary?

Unless they’re making all those items in house and they’re all 1 off I don’t see a problem with replacing parts.

I don’t expect to walk into auto-zone and pick up a short side axle shaft for my 14 bolt front.
That's the thing. I've not seen any info on cross over parts.

They’re here in the USA.

It’s right in their website.
Our USA warehouse is equipped with stock of spare parts and our axles are compatible with Spicer parts. If you have already a 40 spline locker and gears you can use it on our axles.

Compatible with Spicer parts so any off the shelf D60/70 stuff sounds like it'd work just fine.

Seems like another good option, I've not heard or seen them

Ehh... fronts ain't HP tho so that kills it for me.

You must be fun at parties...... What would this thread be if it weren't for false information and wild speculation?

:flipoff2:

They don't use D60 anything it seems and their "banjo" axle is intresting. I can't figure out what 3rd it uses. The description says it used D44HD ratios....

The Dstrac 80 can take AAM 11.5” ring & pinion.

I think non-HP is fine with me. :grinpimp:

I also wonder about their “banjo” axles. I think it’s more of a custom ordered axle build, rather than crate axles like their 60/70/80? Hence vague tech info

Anyone recognize what third member is this?

Looks like a Toyota?

This kind of reminds me of Profender Shocks. It's a decent product but has almost no support in the US. They had a vendor in the USA but then they went away leaving everyone with their shocks hanging and having to order parts from overseas.

Doesnt matter how BA something is if you cant easily get parts for it. The 1500 hp 60 inch tire comment is comical to me. big ol red flag

Just a quick warning to anyone interested in ordering these. The looked great. But after 5 months I received the wrong axles. I am still waiting for a replacement almost 11 months after I ordered the first pair. If you need them ASAP, go elsewhere. If you can wait a year, then they seemed like a nice beefy axle. The welds were nice and everything looked good. They just have severe communication issues, like almost none. I definitely regret my decision to go with them. If you want to speak to someone on the phone, this is not the brand or company for you. They are beefy, but my concern now is the length of time it is taking to actually get a new set of axles, how long would I be down if I need to get a replacement part?

8500 for a front 70 with portals? In time and parts I have close to that or maybe more in a D60. I too would like to see the new guys' pictures/proof he even has one of their axles.

Here are the ones I received in Sept that were sent back. I really don't care if you believe me or not. You want a set, go ahead and order them. Just don't say I told you so.... And no I didn't just join for this. I was a member of Pirate4x4 for years and was looking for something else when I came across this post. Thought I would help out, but I guess you don't like that on this forum.

Well if you were on pirate at any point of decency then your skin should be at least a little calloused and able to handle a proof pic comment.

About the axles... are those welded nuts on the backside of each of the trackbar locations? Seems a little... uh uncalled for?

Yes. Those are all welded nuts. Don't get me wrong, the axles are way over built. 1/4" steel everywhere. However, everything but the ball joints they claim are hand forged in Brazil. That is the excuse I am getting this week. Due to everything going on in Brazil, they supposibly can't get steel to make the parts. However, that is just one of the many excuses I have gotten from them over the year. They are better at delivering excuses than delivering axles. I am not knocking these axles at all, they just have the wrong individual running the company. I went with them due to the price and extra beefy axles that I would never break as I have had many friends break both Dynatracs and Curries. I figured 40 spline full floaters I would never be able to break in my Jeep. What they failed to tell me before ordering them is that the hub is custom made and will not fit most wheels. You have a very small selection of wheels available with another smaller selection of blanks to have custom drilled. The later is what I ended up doing. Unfortunately, I also paid top dollar durring covid to get the 40" tires. All of which have been sitting around now for over 9 months. The few that have actually received these axles, like them. I did too. Unfortunately, they mis-shipped a bunch of these and it does take about 5-6 months to get them not 8-9 weeks as stated on their page. They would not even expedite the replacement set. I should have known then what I was dealing with. They also require you pay 100% up front for the axles, unlike everyone else. If you want them, just make sure you deal with a dealer and not direct. Find someone who actually knows something about axles as they don't. They are just resellers for DStrac in Brazil and seem to know very little about them. They completely steered me in the wrong way in the begining. BTW, this set of axles weighed in at 1243lbs for the set.

That sounds like standard bullshit that aftermarket suppliers spew to keep you from going around them and buying shit elsewhere. I bet if you measure things most of it is gonna be off the shelf spicer parts

I know the hubs weren't, much larger than any other hub I have ever seen. They were the only ones I could find that made 5:86 gears for a 70. That is what I ordered. I figured the things that could actually break (gears, locker, shafts and u-joints) are all theirs. This has been confirmed by others that own them. I am sure I could find someone that could make a 40 spline shaft, but I don't know of any that are 40 to 40 like theirs.

Out of curiosity what was wrong with the axles that you sent back? You mentioned they weren't what you ordered. What was wrong in the delivery?

That's pretty common though. Branik, RCV and a bunch others could make you some shafts

They either sent me someone else's axles or they completely messed up the order. They were 3.5" longer than ordered, low pinion instead of high pinion axles and had all of the brackets welded on. I requested no brackets as I have my own for my suspension. I couldn't make them work if I tried. I am in So. Cal and that is just too wide for me, especially with the 3.5" BS wheel I was told I needed to buy for these axles. This would have made me over 8" wider than I am now. Guaranteed to be pulled over everytime I leave my house.

Oof! That sounds like someone else's order. Either that or they just shipped whatever they had hoping it would work, which isn't an uncommon tactic from foreign businesses.

Dealing with them is like dealing with a vendor from Alibaba. It will take forever and you never know if you are going to get what you actually ordered. Then try and get them to return it. Come to think about it, it is exactly like dealing with Alibaba from start to finish. No one to actually speak with on the phone and all through email. The return process took over a month of arguing with them that they sent me the wrong axles. Didn't know how many more pictures I was going to have to send them each week to prove that they sent me the wrong ones. All the way until the end, they argued that they were the correct ones.

Fuck that noise. Hope you get the right axles , lost time sucks.

You got 5.86 high pinion D70s?
