What's new

Twister fans, thoughts on new movie trailer?

Glad it's not a reboot of the original (Twister vs Twisters), that fact alone means I will probably watch. I love the original (Helen Hunt was fully in my spank bank as a teenager). It will probably suck but won't know until I watch.

The original was so fucking good. A lot of it's initial success was based on the visual spectacle. The graphics for the time were amazing. Not so much these days. In fact, like all graphical spectacles the amazing graphics haven't held up over time. But the movie itself has because it's just a great fucking movie.

I made it about 15 seconds into the trailer. It looks like complete dogshit trash just like everything else coming out of Hollywood these days.
So you watched 12.5% of something a made a judgement call? LOL

But Hollywood has become very good at making an hour and a half seem like a never ending eternity of social indoctrination. If I cant be bothered to listen to crap from some ugly harpie, why would I waste time on Hollywood's drivel?

I will see for sure.

When the first one came it it was the first time I saw my Jr High / High School buddy professionally act. Caught me way off guard when I saw it.

He’s the guy in Saving Private Ryan that cries on the stairs towards the end like a little bitch because he wouldn’t go up and fight while the other soldier took a knife to the chest.

Hey that guy is a good actor. Really pissed me off in that movie saving ryan

Needs more J10 and Black Squarebody Suburbans.

I remember it being one of my favorite movies as a kid. I remember going to the Twister museum in Wakita Oklahoma. They had those a bunch of those little balls that they let lose in the tornado for sale as Christmas ornaments. We actually drove through Wakita a year ago and the museum is still there but didn’t look open anymore. Maybe it will reopen with this coming out.

I wonder what town they are using in this new movie that can gain some fame from it.

Another thing that was a big deal with the original was the prototype new body extended cab Dodges used in the movie. The truck gave the idea that Bill really was retired but came back as The Extreme; going from a grandpa spec truck to a storm chaser workhorse.

New movie: Meh crewcab hillbilly dually

Yes, but it looks like a ram commercial.

This movie would set records if the truck had a west texas weld bed and a Lincoln pipe liner.

Wasn't a prototype.

Wasn't a prototype.

they should have found a similar red 1994 2500 Ram and done like someone said above.... flatbed and pipeliner on it. Would have been a cool call back if the first one wasnt destroyed in the F5 in 1994.

This is hilarious. FMB was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw that pic, then I scrolled down to see this, haha.

Does no one have an original thought in their heads anymore?
So ever song has already been written too?

I'm quite certain there are books...good books, that's never had a movie made off of.

The problem is no imagination anymore. Society is so numb and dumb that an original thought is shunned.

I include myself in that statement.

The state of education is definitely part of the problem.

Has there ever been a reboot that was better than the original?

Evil Dead 1 vs Evil Dead 2 (not a sequel)

Every Lord of the Rings before Peter Jackson's.

I am Legend, The Mummy, Casino Royale, Scarface, Wizard of Oz, The Thing...

To your point though, it's rare the reboot is better.

Walker TX Ranger and his extended can dodge that aired at least a year before twister call bullshit on your claim.

As do I since I drove one to watch the damn movie.
It was 1995 actually :flipoff2:
