Trailer brands to look at or avoid

I don’t remember what price the guy told me he could do back in July, but it’s been there a few more months and it may be the time of the year to move it.

Unless you're worried about trouble with the law for no cdl, just go tandem duals. The 8k's are just churched up 7ks which are basically churched up 5200s

Well, yeah, and 52k drives are just churched up 46’s, which are just churched up 40’s, which is just two 20’s, and a 20 is basically just a churched up 14 bolt.

Really though, 5200-8k use the same spindles. Obviously there is other differences, but the difference between an 8k and 10k axles is night and day.

I haul a 13k lb excavator every day. On paper a 2 x 8k trailer would be perfect. But after talking to 2 buddies who bought them for the same reason they wouldn't recommend it. Bend axles, blown tires, it just gets old.

Current trailer is 3 7k's and snapped a spindle last year.

Other operator at work hauls the same machine and bought a 2 x 8k trailer last year, already had to replace 2 tires. Being fancy 17.5s they're not cheap, especially when you blow one and need it now.

They have their place, but if going deck over gooseneck, there is almost no reason not to go tandem dual.

I picked up a 20' Titan with drive over fenders about a year ago and it's been good so far and pretty dang solid. Not the lightest trailer in the bunch but wiring seems good and welds aren't nearly as bad as the last two trailers I owned.

I will 2nd the Titan trailer, had mine for 9 years, holding up very well. 14K 22' drive over fenders, 6' stand up ramps with a drop leg, there is slide in pockets for the ramps. bit of a pain to pull the pivot bar to take them off and stow away, but not horrible. . Buddy with a fence business that abuses trailers every day uses Behnke trailers. More to the commercial side of things.

With the ramps stowed away and with them stood up.

When I was looking a few years ago prices and quality were all over the place. I ended up building a Diamond C on their site and having it delivered to my dealer. The DC 10k max width was cheaper than a PJ buggy hauler and it's spec'ed nicer, has a built it storage box in the front, and it wasn't extra to get it in something other than black.
