Tourist submarine exploring Titanic wreckage disappears in Atlantic Ocean

“Can only get out with help from the outside” fuck that noise. Dying from lack of oxygen on the surface sounds even worse than at depth.
If they die(d) I hope it was an implosion. At least that’s quick.

I know absolutely nothing about subs, but when I am asked to design one, I think a good feature would be an external "return to home" motor.

Obviously would do fuck all for an implosion, but at least that's something.
Every deep sub I've ever been around has ballast weights they can jettison to make it positive buoyant. Don't need a motor
if it's positive buoyant, it'll just pop up to the surface.

How about an escape pod

Soooooo, were waiting......why hasnt it popped up

The thought of dropping a cool quarter mil (almost 2x my house price) and having a malfunction at the bottom of ~12K feet of water petrifies me to no end. I didn't think I was claustrophobic, but apparently a CT machine was tight enough to freak me out

I recently had a CT and almost tapped out due to freaking out claustrophobic. They strapped my head down with this piece around my jaw and the ceiling of the CT machine was nearly touching my nose. Barley made it through

My wife is like that. I've been thru them and no problem. Everyone reacts differently.

I've had CT's and MRI's and didn't have any problems being confined in the tube...That being said, I could never do shit like underwater cave diving or even spelunking through tight spots in caves. Fuck that noise.

Think past the end of your nose. Could be an implosion, or a complete electrical failure, or maybe they got too close and got snagged in the wreck.

Even if there was a complete electrical failure, it would make sense to have a separate battery powered unit providing ping in the water and GPS at surface.

I've been 117ft underwater. There's less than 1% of the world population that's been that deep.

12,000+ is nuts.

Not knowing this sub I don't know exactly how it's equipped. Most manned ones have something like that. Hell, even our Navy nuc boats have an emergency locator buoy on them.

Oh fuck… and I mean FUCK that noise. The passengers have to squat for 10~12 hours going down?!? That’s a big no right off the bat besides all the other huge red warning flags and lights.

I’ve been 130’ foot a bunch of times diving. Mostly on wrecks in the ocean.

Lot of speculation coming from the god of “I’ll wait for the facts to be released, prior to making a bunch of dumb assumptions like the rest of you”:lmao:

I didn't say any of those possibilities was fact, just possibilities. As typical you jumped down my throat even though I clearly stated they were just possible reasons. Grow the fuck up and stop acting like a 5 y/o.

Looks like your glass windows break too :lmao::lmao:

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds. You literally call people idiots for doing exactly this.:lmao:

Don’t be upset cause people call you out, embrace it. :lmao:

If they are stuck on the bottom with no power, they're going to freeze to death long before they run out of O2.

I wonder what they have more of, onboard O2, or soda sorb for the CO2 scrubbers? I think I'd rather run out of O2 and fall asleep, than die from CO2 poisoning.

Want me to post up a couple examples?:lmao:
You still don't understand the difference between stating possibilities and claiming something is a fact when you have no knowledge. I stated possibilities, but you're too stupid to get it. I'm done arguing this point with you and peg leg since neither of you have the mental ability to understand.

Some sort of ballon fills in an emergency and returns them to the top?
You would need whatever you were using to inflate that ballon to be stored at much greater pressure than what there is down there. Not really gonna happen.

Fuck, I didn’t even think of that. What’s the pressure down that far?

Edit; just googled it. 6,000 psi. Fuck. They dead:laughing:

346 atmospheres, or 5340psi down at 12,000ft, gonna need a high pressure bottle.

And you better have a way for that balloon to dump gas on it's way up, or it's going to pop and send you back to bottom to die all over again.:flipoff2:

Even if they found them alive, theres no way for the only other 2 subs capable of that depth to rescue them.
