Tourist submarine exploring Titanic wreckage disappears in Atlantic Ocean

Surprised both ends landed so close together. Makes me think it imploded on the ground or close to it, right there, rather than on decent.

Toob shatters to dust-sized shards, end caps are shoved together to fill the comparative vacuum, & there's no pressure between 'em to bounce back away from each other.

Do you think the tips touched on implosion????
Great, you found a way to make taking an exploding tube full of seamen super-deep sound gay :shaking: :flipoff2:

I thought they had already hauled up bits of the rings and endcaps during the search and rescue efforts?

watching that youtube clip seems like he nailed it down fairly close with glue failing and endcap flange being bent inward

That ROV video is dated 6-22-2023. So probably one of the first dives to the mess on bottom.

There must not have been much current when the thing imploded. Everything seems to have fallen straight down. All those little black bits on bottom are carbon fiber from the tube.

That second video of the guy in the court room seems to be forgetting that the folks inside were hearing noises that made them try to abort the dive. I don't think their last seconds were spent all happy to see the Titanic. They knew they weren't going to see the Titanic, they were probably spent wondering why the sub isn't going up. He is right that they didn't feel anything when things let go.

I don't remember that ever being substantiated. Only a rumor as I recall.

Everything was fucking rumors, like he says, because no factual information was coming out of the investigation.

Agreed. It was reported the Titan claimed to have dropped weights, but only two. This was could have been to slow their decent.

I thought at some point the comms between the mothership and the sub were released.

I very well could be wrong.

Edit:

Well, it seems that the last communication from the sub was "All good here". That was after dropping the weights to try and slow down the decent.
Unfortunately they weren't all good there.
