But don’t anyone.

I love a nice fire when it’s chilly but Phuck a bunch of firewood getting.

I’m stacking this shit and it’s 80 degrees.

What did you used to enjoy?

Being able to go out in public and everyone being friendly...Canadians were always known to be nice people, you could chit chat with anyone in line at a store or the people serving you or whatever, but with the amount of immigrants both working and around the stores, it's just a shit environment and you can't talk to those idiots since they don't understand shit.

So ya, I used to enjoy the world being a friendly place.

I also used to enjoy going for a spirited drive, but with the amount of traffic and "vision zero" bullshit laws, you can literally not enjoy being in a vehicle anymore.

I enjoyed doing this when i was a kid helping my dad. Now that im old and a dad? Yeah, splitting & stacking wood sucks

20 years ago i enjoyed going to Paragon to watch all the NEUROC comps. Now that im older i dont really like going to comps at all. I dont know if its the crowds, or if its bitter regret for not competing years ago when i had the time. Or both.

Wrenching

I got some ase certs in high school, I fixed and built all my own shit, but had a solid plan to stay on the business side of auto repair. I had cool cars, a crawler, a fummins, a 65 mustang fastback project, etc.

I had a kid young and had to pick up my tools to make money. I took good care of my family, but my hobby just sits. I come home from swinging wrenches and want to sit on a couch and stare at a screen.

I fortunately still have my health, and look and feel pretty good for a 42yo mechanic, but I don't know that the next 20yrs will be as kind.

I want to move to white collar work, but don't know if I can take the paycut to start.

I may make a 2 year plan to grind and get where I want to be, then put on nice clothes and coast.

And get back to enjoying fixing old cars and trucks

I’m a pretty dam good cook, least I used to be.

Social meals /Breaking Bread used to be a huge part of my life.
After having Covid 6 times (think I had it before test were available so probably 7) my taste buds and sense of smell have been destroyed.

Now I have to cook for others based off of memory , and don’t really even enjoy eating.

Phuck the kung fu/China virus and Phuck whoever is responsible.
Never convince me it was just happenstance, an accident, or just nature being nature.

I used to write a lot more but all this traveling we've been doing and the constant interruptions make thinking a complete thought nearly impossible. (People sending texts, my wife's requests to bring her something, or her dad asking questions--we're staying with him for a bit since she's working in PHX and our house in Flag is so fucking far away.)

No one understands that stopping me from finishing a paragraph--even if for only a twelve second question and answer--means that I'll be five minutes re-reading and trying to get back on track.

Meh, who cares? I'll never sell this shit anyway.

Riding dirt bikes and falling off when I did stupid stuff. I’m too old for that shit now. I used to like killing deer and fish but I “mostly” like to look at them now and let them live another day.
Ha.

I’ve been feeding ducks for several years here where I live.

Wasn’t long ago and them bitches would be on the grill.

I’ve got a few that will eat out of my hand.
100% wild.

This particular dude will follow me around like a puppy, and he doesn’t even mind the big dogs.

Same. I thought it would be fun to get back on a bike after all these years of quads/trikes. Hell, l grew up riding dirt bikes, l thought l would take right back to it.

Turns out l manage to fall off the stupid thing every time l ride it, and l don't ride it hard at all.

To be fair. Theres a lotta folk out there that would benefit from selling their 450. And buying a 300 or 350.

The Army sent me to a course to learn all about nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons.

Covid (first phase) checked all the boxes for a biological weapon. I caught the watered down version a couple years ago, it zapped all of my energy for thirty six hours. I don’t have any side effects, but very little is going to survive in my rum infused blood anyway 😋

So let’s say someone with a mid size ADV bike is looking at a “small” bike to improve my single track skills or harder two track that is too technical for my current skill level.

Not downsizing. In addition to. Not hucking off MX jumps. Will be dropped many times. Not likely to get any maintenance beyond fluid and pad changes.

Ideal if it is street legal “enough” that I can take it 10 miles on pavement to the forest roads and trails.

All my bikes are Italian but they lack in small displacement supermoto or MX bikes unless I have missed something.

Suggestions?

I'm a 2 stroke guy. A ktm/husky/beta/sherco 250/300 would be awesome for that, providing you can put a plate on that kinda bike(if it matters) where you're at.

For just a fuck around/training bike. A 150 is hands down the most fun bike I have ever ridden. Making that little motor go fast in the woods is just a ball. Would suck on the roads though. A bit buzzy for that sorta thing

For a 4stroke. I'd be only looking at a ktm/husky 350. They can be had with a plate. putput around or haul ass.:smokin: If I was doing longer stretches of road I would look at a 500

i used to enjoy riding my cruiser to work and just about wherever I wanted to go...sold it a few moths ago after the dr said that my cancer has infiltrated my pelvic bone and if I broke any bones infiltrated by cancer, they may never hear heal...pretty much go from somewhat normal life to dying in a hospital bed sooner than later...easy choice due to number of morons driving out there hitting motos daily. TX saays a moto rider dies daily due to cars not paying attention...had a friend that died riding his HD the day he retired because someone ran a stop sign and didnt SEE him.

I used to love minimalist backpacking and camping.

Now we’ve gone full blown “Glamping” and I love it more :grinpimp:
