What's new

The Stock Market 2024 Thread

was talking to dad yesterday and he said basically that. returns looking great for 6mo or so, but that's ignoring the big drop that happened before then and ignoring inflation too

It’s gonna go up and people are gonna sellout at the funny 69420 number.

I'm betting it will drop a little, then skyrocket.

DFV dropped another YOLO post last night, GME up big in the premarket.
He updated again today, hasn’t sold anything yet and value is now over $500M

He will also be live steaming on YouTube in the AM. First YT action since 2021. Shit is fixing to get wild…

Any bets on whether or not he gets enough for his 5M shares to cover his 120k call options and exercises them all during the live stream?

Why? They do a decent job around me. The other “minority women XYZ owned” contract trash companies suck.

This is based on my cans at my curb being picked up on the correct day and not destroyed.
Since WM took over our county trash company, its like a contest to see how much they can fuck up the can, and where they can toss it afterwards.

They are more concerned with pushing the agenda for team tranny.

Where have I seen that 2030 date goal before???? Hmmmm.

Why would a company that puts non-biodegradable plastics in the ground, and can't let groundwater out of their sites due to toxicity, feel compelled to preach to the world abput "sustainability" when their exact business model is unsustainable, and sure as fuck aint green?

every accusation you see bandied about by the propaganda machine?
Flip it 180 and you'll see the reality.

It's amusing how simple things are.

Brutal week for me. Mentally.

Been chasing TSLA since it broke out of consolidation range. Rolling options and taking profits.

Had to head to Mosport to test this week. Sold my 5 remaining $200 calls for a nice profit. Had I held them through today they were as high as $52/call. I sold at 6. Left just over $20k on the table.

Going to sting for a while.

If anyone wants to experience a serious trade room, one of the best I use is having an introductory week

The Momentum Room with JR.

Tell Amber BonesB sent you

They will offer specials at the end of the promotion. Try and sign up before Sunday so you can take advantage of the pre week preparation presentation on Sunday night. There will also be an orientation for the attendees.

JR mentors mostly day trading although we also swing trade. The Momentum Mastery is largely Wykoff based with news triggers.

If anyone signs up please let me know how it goes, I will be at the track all next week so will only be in the room briefly

Dividend stocks still doing well, funding my retirement. T and ET both up over 30% from when I bought them, and increasing their payouts.

DX is paying 13.29% yearly with a monthly distribution.
ARR is paying 14.78% monthly.
QTR is paying 10.93% quarterly.
I've even got some South American Coca Cola stocks,, AKO/A and AKO/B. Taxes are interesting on those two, you pay the Brazilian tax and then get to take it off your US tax bill.

Edit; to be clear, those %'s are all annual yield, just some split it up monthly and some quarterly...for those that don't know.

exited TSLA in early July for a nice, tidy sum.

CRWD looks mighty interesting - almost 50% off it's 2024 peak since their little kerfuffle 2 weeks ago.

  • do the shareholder and Delta (and maybe others) threats of lawsuit go anywhere?
  • does CRWD have enough T&C protections and insurance to weather those potential near-term storms?
  • 3B cash goes a ways, unless they get drained by multiple lawsuits - it's anyone's guess how much (or too much) of that risk is priced in already.

from what I've been able to find, CRWD is a pretty significant cybersecurity contractor to the US Government, so it seems unlikely that they wouldn't get some level of protection from bankruptcy, if that risk were ever to materialize. I'm watching, but I bet it bleeds out a little more before people forget what happened, and they move on to the next shiny thing.

more than a few times. but my biggest swing and a miss was AMC a few months back. i pulled out thinking i hit a homerun, if i stayed in a few hours later it would have made me a half mil.

Balls of steel man… I play conservatively and couldn’t stomach that loss.

I out a buy order in at 180… I’m not sure it drops that much
