What's new

The more I hear this guy the more I am impressed

That is authored by RFK Jr. :pinky:
Maybe I should have said that explicitly. I was making the point that his passions come out in the book, and they’re the type of thing that most people could get behind. He’s a definite risk on energy and 2A.

As a 2A fan that works in the energy industry, I’d still probably bet on him. Our biggest problems are government related, and I think he knows that. He’s not my favorite candidate, but I’d vote for him this time way before, say, Trump. I think I’d probably vote RFK over DeSantis. I think I’d prefer Vivek to RFK JR. This is the most I’ve been excited about a DNC candidate maybe ever, and he likely threatens my paycheck.

Swooooooooon. Another Kennedy to the rescue. :barf:

Uh, the real one was captain or whatever of a small plywood boat that was rammed by a Jap destroyer in the dark tropical night. He had balls and they got salt water wet. The best candidates are unelectable. Take what you can get. And then take it. Look at Trump's SCOTUS appointees. Fucking spell check added apostrophe to appointees :mr-t::rainbow::mr-t:

The big question is who keeps us out of war with a nuclear power. He would do that.

If your combat vessel under combat conditions (i.e. taking watches seriously) gets rammed by a bigger slower one you're probably doing something wrong.

I dont think you really understand what happened. Kennedy's Torpedo boat was engine off drifting, listening for troop barges along the coast. There was no moon, and there was fog. The later model IJN destroyers could hit almost 40 mph at full speed, almost as fast as the PT boats. The IJN vessel came out of the fog and dark before they even heard it. I recommend the account by Kennedy, Profiles in Courage. Much much better to read a book from 78 years ago by the man than to rely on internet garbage for your information or opinion. The man had sack. It is horribly ironic that the guy labeled and maligned by a new generation of instant flash mob media drugged half wits forgot or are ignorant of his words, (not directed at arse) "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Kennedy's navy record was controversial at the time. I am nowhere near the first person to question his captaining abilities.

Politican's words aren't worth much. Obama was a great orator too and we all know how great he was.

Agreed, the Navy record itself is clear. IIRC the navy pointed out several errors leading up to the accident, but they found no fault with his conduct and leadership after the accident. This just means he's not perfect. If you trust the Navy's report, his own, and the reports of his sailors he certainly lead with honor after the accident. Can't say you or I could have done better.

Agreed, actions do speak louder than words. That's why RFKJr. is a mixed bag. If you look at what he's done in his life, it reads like Erin Brockovich and ACLU stuff... of 25 years ago, but not today. While you can disagree with where he comes from on issues, he's certainly his own man and willing to buck "his side", which is a point in his favor.

Again, I'd hope the Rs can come up with a competent candidate and the DNC machine is going to kneecap RFKJr. and install potatoe again so this is just a pipe dream that he may succeed. If he does there's going to be folks taking a look at him.

I do not understand all the slobbering over this Dem. He gets a few things right, then goes right back to the standard prison rape.

Kennedy Jr. castigates fossil fuel companies, throws his support behind the Green New Deal, and says that every Democratic presidential candidate has an environmental agenda better than that of President Donald Trump.

“There are going to be major disruptions not just to humanity, but ultimately to civilization,” says Kennedy Jr, the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy. “This is part of the cost that we're paying for our longtime deadly addiction to coal and oil.”

“Right now, we have a market that is governed by rules that were written by the carbon incumbents to reward the dirtiest, filthiest, most poisonous, most toxic, most war-mongering fields from hell, rather than the cheap, clean, green, wholesome and patriotic fields from heaven,” Kennedy adds.

On climate change, Kennedy Jr. voiced his support for a Green New Deal proposal put forward by Queens Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez but primarily called on governments to divest from fossil fuels and impose a tax for carbon emissions.

“I think the Green New Deal — and all that stuff — is important,” Kennedy Jr. says. “We ought to be pursuing it. My approach is more market-based than kind of top down dictates. You know, I believe that we should use market mechanisms like carbon taxes and the elimination of subsidies.”

He's rightly blaming prescriptions, but he's clearly NOT a friend of the 2A.

While agree with your preamble in principle, they used to be worth a hell of a lot more than they are now. Never, ever ever compare Obama with John Kennedy. Muslim vs Catholic :lmao: Kennedy went on nationwide air and took full responsibility for the Bay of pigs disaster. All the other conspiracy bullshit aside, all the sleaze and power grab, he owed up to that one. On the Bay of Pigs -

“There's an old saying that victory has 100 fathers and defeat is an orphan...I've said as much as I feel can be usefully said by me in regard to the events of the past few days. Further statements, detailed discussions, are not to conceal responsibility, because I'm the responsible officer of the government, but merely because I, and that is quite obvious, but merely because I do not believe that such a discussion would benefit us during the present difficult situation.”

I am very concerned about his position on the 2A. That said, the only thing standing between the 2A and those who would eliminate it is the Supreme Court.

He’s also a candidate that is extremely anti war. And anti-pharma. And appears to hate censorship. And utterly detests the intelligence agencies. I think he hates those things more than he hates energy and guns.

The energy outlook with him is flat out scary, but he seems to me to be capable of learning. And he’d be tireless on actual swamp-draining otherwise. No idea if his current stated positions on guns is his honest opinion.

Currently, most of us here are enemy number 1 to the government—-people that generally distrust government. With him, I feel like I’d be enemy number 5, after the MIC, big pharma, big censorship, and intelligence groups.

"Anti-war" is only good for a particular war you dislike. "To ensure peace, prepare for war."

Being "anti-war" is exactly as dumb as being "anti-gun". Sometimes force is justified.

I wouldn't sell out the 2nd and IC engines.

Anti war is my term, not his. We are currently facing the non-zero chance of nuclear war just to suck the MIC’s meat. He would stop that immediately.

I don’t know that he’s a pure pacifist or anything, and neither am I. All of our wars of the last 80 years are unjustified. So, for twice my lifetime, we could’ve used far more pacifist politicians. We’re currently facing the biggest nuclear risk since the Cuban crisis. I would love to have someone in that is a pessimist about every piece of “intelligence” that’s handed to him.

By the way for those who do not know: his odd voice is the result of a vaccination he received in the 90s. Flu shot. His voice was normal before then. He received a titanium implant in Kyoto that gave him what he has today. Before that he could barely speak at all.
Oh noes, you used the V word. There's going to be some triggering up in here.

Shockingly, his interview with Rogan has been removed by youtube.

Until a regular guy gets in there, it's just more doublespeak and bullshit. Everybody loved Trump because he was one of us. Was he? He was a billionaire rubbing shoulders with elites daily. Get someone in there with a net worth of under 5 million that has a good head on their shoulders, good moral values, and won't take shit. That's what it'll take, and that's only if that person doesn't bend to the countless offers of selling out for the almighty dollar. Otherwise, it's just more of the same grifting, political bullshit that we have had over and over for decades. There are the elites and there are the rest of us. The chasm is deep between the two. America has already fallen but most don't even realize it yet. A nation of comfortable, happy imbeciles. Too comfortable to get off the couch but instead bitch to their friends, as if that does anything. And if you think we will ever have another real election, I've got some oceanfront property in Oklahoma to sell you. I wish I had the answers, I'm not doing anything either except preparing as best as I can for the upcoming collapse. Other nations riot against tyranny. Not us...too comfortable still. We will see what's to come.

There is a pretty wide fucking gulf between the "rich elites" and the "political elites" and I'll pick the former every time.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.
Free market economy is how smart people get rich regardless of character.

Politics is how dumb, unscrupulous people get rich.

That was on my list.

HOWEVER, I never understood podcast on Youtube for my lifestyle.

My lifestyle. Podcast are for the car.

So is it still upon Spotify?

rich people arent going to stop being rich to have their personal lives put on display in front of the world without having the support of a party running interference.

I really like this guy. I'd vote for him if he received the nomination. I'd really like to see him allowed to actually debate in the primaries.

Having him in the debates would be great. He talks about principles the average GOP candidate always ignores.

RFK is very good on certain things. And truly awful in others. Although not nearly as awful as democrat mainstream these days.

I really hope he will get to debate Biden, but I'm sure they'll find a way to keep him out, even though he has 20% support in polls. Maybe what they'll do is have a 20 people debate, to dilute what he has to say.
