What's new

The Kamala thread.

So how can anyone with a brain have watched the joke of the interview last night and not see straight thru the facade of this waste of air. Once again, if this is the best we got going to lead the country, we are fucked.
Must have worked...my Google news headlines all day she has a huge lead in latest polls

That wasn’t an interview.

It was a pre-taped propaganda video put out by a major media outlet.

It was a sad commentary on what journalism has become.
More like "propagandism" :shaking:

97% of modern "journalists" should report live POV 1st-person on the journey from 1000' to terra firma, "unburdened by parachutes that have been"

On the other hand, no one takes CNN seriously. Even Colbert's audience laughed when he and a CNN talking head tried to act like they're a serious news organization a couple weeks ago. Clip below is less than a minute.

This has been an ongoing thing for you that news is dead... But it's not.
Maybe watching the news is down, but the brands are still getting their stories out there, whether it is placement on Apple news, or google, or facebook / instagram.

This idea that NOBODY is seeing their content and it's therefore ineffectual is just silly.
The major news media is out there, and gets major traction by the masses, whether you, yourself, believe them or not.

They know it's propaganda but they don't care. What a lot of people don't realize is that they're perfectly happy being gaslit. Hell, they'll gaslight their damn selves.

I've cited numerous examples every time I've made that argument, just because you don't agree with me doesn't mean I'm wrong either. Nevermind the fact that that's not the argument I'm making here. All I'm saying is people generally know CNN is bullshit, it's why even a left leaning audience is laughing at Colbert saying they're unbiased.

CNN in particular is fucking dead. Their ratings dropped something like 90% in July and have been steadily dropping for the last several years. They've tried overhauling the network twice including firing all their senior staff, their streaming service was DOA, and they've had massive layoffs this year including firing their entire diversity team a few weeks ago.

I'm going to have to agree. Simply go to your local news FB page and read the post and comments on anything political. The level of fucking stupidity is truly amazing.

Of course it is, but that's also an echo chamber that's not necessarily reflective of the broader public. That's like coming here, reading 90% conservative opinions and trying to apply it to the whole country.

My only real point is that CNN doesn't have the reach that it did 10+ years ago. I don't dismiss their bullshit entirely, but the sky isn't falling because they did a puff piece interview for her either.

The quota hire can't stand alone. Circumvented having to win a primary, and an entire media machine in place to prop her up. This is what "democracy" looks like to braindead liberals.

We're fucked, their gonna do so many of these schemes the voter population will double while the Republicans will be telling people to keep voting in person.

I don't buy it. The woman in my family up in New England that are very liberal leaning and probably voted for Biden the last round can not stand her and are voting for Trump this time around. I'm floored hearing them say that honestly, but I'll take it.

Remember folks...... Mosy woman don't actually like each other and will stab one another in the back any chance they can get and voting for Trump is just the way to do that.

QUESTION: what percentage of those newly-registered voters are aware that they're registered?

That^ question is nowhere near tinfoil hat territory IMHO :frown:

Almost spluged my coffee this morning when I found this...:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

During a pivotal debate in the 2020 US presidential election, one candidate seemed to dominate the stage. They interrupted their rivals at strategic moments, sometimes speaking over them.

They directly confronted an opponent, Joe Biden, generating headlines for days and had critics questioning whether they had breached some sort of unspoken political decorum.

That candidate, however, wasn’t Donald Trump. It was Kamala Harris.

Let them talk her up. It's a dumb strategy. They were smart how they handled the lead up to the interview. It was basically going to be seen as a success as long as she didn't go on a complete word salad bender. But since she made it through that without completely faceplanting now they're getting cocky and forgetting they need to keep the expectations near the floor to keep the bar to clear low.

I read this last night on Yahoo. The comments were awesome 100:1 calling bullshit.

This is fine though. Keep building those expectations for her so that she has no option but to underwhelm is fine with me.

Trump sucks at debating. Outside of making just insults, he doesn't bring much to the table for someone that has been in the game for a long time now., including being the president for four years. He doesn't really talk policy. He talks generalities and almost always feels the need to embellish, exaggerate almost every point. Not an endearing trait in people. We probably all know someone like that.

I do think Kamala could get under his skin and make him have a hissy-fit. Easily. She will surely pull out her "Im talking" like she did with Pence over and over. It's effective for a guy like Pence who wants to look professional and probably is a genuine gentleman. Trump?? I don't think so but he will go off and that just isn't a good look when you are trying to win people over, especially women.

Kamala could easily "win" this debate. Neither are going to get into detail at all about HOW they are going to do something. Trump will repeat the Ukraine war will be over in 24 hours after his election. Harris will say she will bring prices down one day 1 and pass a national abortion law, etc.

If Trump can stand there and listen as she talks like he did with Biden, he COULD win. Refute her points and score his own. Act like an adult.

I question that he can do that. We shall see

Don't you have some real dirt to dig up?

She could completely bomb and the media will still say she "won".

Her team wants the mics unmuted so that she can do her "I'm talking" girl boss bullshit. It's basically the only debate "tactic" she has. She's still gonna do it even with muted mics which will be hilarious.

Of course the media will prop her up and declare her the winner. That's a given. The articles are probably already written with just some spaces to insert quotes.

I agree on the mics being on for that reason to "put the man in his place", but if I was debating Trump, I would want his mic on all the time as well. He is petulant and can't hold what he thinks are "clever" insults, comebacks, etc. I would want him doing that over and over.

/All the while, I am trying to just show the American people facts, solutions and that I feel their pain all while Trump insults me. /sarcasm off

If Trump was smart, he would just stand there and smile while she talks, think about nailing Melania later while Harris talks, and then take her apart calmly and FACTUALLY on all her bullshit that she is going to spew. Don't make personal insults. Don't exaggerate.

I think Trumps strategy should be to just let her talk, that will be entertaining enough.
