Looked at a cabin in Potter county Pa. First one I seen that was built by someone who own a level and a tape measure. Nice place, but I don’t think it’s time to be buying a vacation home.

Kinda meh weekend for me, was supposed to go to the drive in for VW night yesterday. Spent the morning putting usb charger and power port in the Bug so I had a way to charge the phone, got it done and went to get some gas, ended up leaving a lake in the driveway...line is leaking above the trans.....so pulled tank and plugged off line so I can deal with it tonite or tomorrow after work...then got a call from dad that mom was in the hospital, small heart attack...apparantly she had pains a couple of days ago but didnt want to leave him alone ( hes shit health, barely able to move around with a walker ) shes getting a stent put in tonite. I'm hoping this will be a fucking wake up call that they need to GTF out of there and closer to family if not some kind of assisted living place...drives me nuts, they cant see the reality of their situation.
Gonna go find a beer and chill for the rest of the night...maybe work in car...something that doesnt involve thinking anyway...

Still frigging raining. Day 7 of rain so far. Have all sorts of shit i need to get done before 7 months of winter hits.

Edit... stopped at around 2000 so spent till dark offloading used oil from the truck and pumping out a busted up partial tote into another partial.
M18 pump wasn't working worth a shit, 80yr old man could piss faster than it was going... like maybe 1gpm and I had ~200 gallons to pump. Fiddled with it and the hoses, nothing helped. Then out of the blue after I was ready to trash the thing and order a new one it spooled up and was like normal.. course had full pressure so shot the hose out of the tote and blew a load across the forklift.
Had planned to pull the tracks off the Bobcat so I can flip the tires to widen it (tracks rub on the loader arms) while it was pumping but somehow even with the 6ft of rain we've had they are still all full of mud, so need to pull out the steam cleaner tomorrow.

Nice. I learned how to swim in the Trinity River at Big Rock by Willow Creek and spent many fun afternoons tubing near there.

Stayed at Indian Creek Lodge.outside Douglas City. Was really nice. Plan on going back in December for steelhead. Long distance released one little brookie, hit Trinity Lake the next day and caught some decent bass.

I had to work today, which sucked ass. Had to load a 40' trailer by hand. Basically 90% of my parts inventory and my Parts Dept is now officially closed and I am moving on tomorrow morning to another of our stores, a goddamn furd store at that. 45 minute drive one way, $100 in gas every 4 days and 13k miles on my truck a year. Can you tell how happy I am about this bullshit?

Went down and took my dad out to lunch for his birthday. We drove past his childhood house andy old house on the way home like right proper peepers, lamented what the new owners did.
Watched a show an hung out with him for a while then hit the road for home. Dad got my mom's ashes back this week and told me they were next to the TV. I thought we're in this pig statue she's had, so I said in the pig? He laughed and told.me he tried to put them into it but it wouldn't open. 😅

Stopped off at a bottle shop.jist before home and had a cider and picked up some ciders, seltzers, and a Brazilian limeade. Dude checking me out congratulated me on my choices and picked up the limeade thing and made a point of telling me how good it was.

Huh.

Got home and opened that thing up first.
Goddamnit!

It's like there's a party in my mouth and everyone is invited! Best drink I've had in some time and now I'm googling how to make one. I'm going to pick up ingredients this week and perfect them next weekend!

Thanks....they moved to the Bay area 26 years ago...I'm just south of PDX, my brother is in bum fuck NC...been trying to get them to move back up this way to no avail, they have no friends and no family down there, so no support of any kind when anything goes sideways...its frustrating as fuck, but "we're fine"...ya, until you're not...🙄
