What's new

So I had an afternoon nap on Sunday…

Wow, guy is having medical issues and you think the best approach is being a dick...Cool

BTW. don't mess around, go see a doctor even if it means losing your license for awhile. I know, I do emergency service and I also think what would happen if I lost my license but imagine if something happened while driving, your family members or others being hurt over it isn't worth it.
It’s not being a dick. If he blows a stop light or sign and runs over your kids during an episode. Is that fair to you because he was afraid of losing his license. If he did have a minor stroke that’s nothing to mess around with

Nothing. Just going by what the wife told me. All I remember is laying down the sitting in my chair talking with her. She asking me all sorts of questions about what I remember.
I mean do you remember buying the toyota and her dad passing now or are you still hazy on that stuff?

Do you nap often or anything extra stressful that day? May have just overwhelmed your noggin and been zoned out

So when you get in the car and drive under a black out… and you know… kill someone, you’ll do something about it?
That happened to my dad...( not killkng someone )went to go to the store "woke up" a block from the house not knowing how he got there...needless to say, he hasnt driven in a while...
OP go get checked out!

I remember everything now. No fuzzy memory at all other than the probably 10 mins tops (I’ll have ask the wife but everything she said about could have happened in that time period). I usually have an afternoon nap on my days off and work this Summer has been brutally stressful for me.

It happened to me when I was like 11 years old. Freaked the fuck out of me.

Similar experience following a concussion as a kid. Definitely unnerving. I hope it's nothing serious.

Irate has legitimately just become a chat board of boomers who wheeled once upon a time but now spend their days getting scammed on the phone, complaining about bowel issues, or describing having a stroke. Lord knows how many @aol.com addresses were used to register usernamers here.

don't forget posting the obvious for no reason :flipoff2:

Thanks for all the comments. As it is I’m going to do nothing but if it happens again I’ll go get it checked out.
To be honest, what terrifies me more is if I go to a Doctor and they find a reason to take my drivers licence.
Dumb ass. I’m clipping this so you get the full jail sentence when you hurt someone driving like that.

You have a brain issue. Fucking moron, go deal with it

Keep a close eye on this, and have your wife do the same

Several years back I stopped in the maintenance shop at the mine and noticed a half dozen brand new 3" nylon lifting straps hanging on the hooks rig big bold sharpie MANTENENCE SHP & MNTINCE SHOOP & MIANETENCE SOHP written on them

I asked a guy what the fuck? Oh, fucking Gary did that shit the day before he got sick.

"You mean the day before he had his stroke?"

"Yeah i guess":homer:

Run thru the stroke symptoms together with your wife to be able to spot it quick.

You did the right thing getting checked out, we're not 23 and bulletproof anymore, hard to admit that...

You're not out of the woods yet, be vigilant the next few days

Scary shit, but get it checked out, even if it's just the minimum to make sure you didn't have a stroke or aneurysm.

I did the tow truck driving thing in my early 20's. The first fatality I got called out to was because a guy went unconscious behind the wheel and crossed over into oncoming traffic in his 4Runner. He hit 2 Harley riders head-on that were headed to Sturgis. One of them was still under the 4Runner when I got there.

The police had me lift the car up so that they could get pictures and a couple of measurements before pulling him out. The first thing I noticed when I got out of the truck was the grey streak down the middle of the highway. When I lifted the vehicle off of him I could see that his face was almost flush with the asphalt. That streak in the road was his brain matter as the asphalt ate away at the back of his head like a cheese grater.

Come to find out, the guy had an episode a few weeks earlier in Evergreen and sideswiped a couple of cars. He claimed at that time that he just fell asleep but later confessed that he just didn't want to get checked out because of the doctor's bill. I don't know how that ended legally as it went on for years and was an international incident (tourists from Europe). But I did hear that it would have been prevented by a simple medication that he didn't know he needed at the time.
