Absolutely worn slick . Being a split family Dad is a chore when your wife works weekends . Been deep cleaning house and preparing for a birthday party for my youngest that starts here in about 15 minutes . House is spotless as hell but that won’t last long !! Glad I at least ordered pizza rather than cooking like I normally would have done .

Having trouble keeping my tablet charged cord has to be held in just the right place to make contact. Problem is cords hanging in a tiny slot in the bottom, I wonder if anyone has taken one apart and soldier the wire for a solid connection? Off to hunt the internet to find out

Daughter and I drove about an hour and a half north this morning to cabelas to get some stuff and check out the snowmobile trails we want to ride on tomorrow. When we got home the Mrs wanted to go get groceries and something to eat at a town an hour east. A lot of driving.

Now I’m messing around in the garage having a few beers and am hoping to go to bed fairly early. The city community club is having a fundraiser with a DJ at the bar a block from our house tonight. I have my fingers crossed that the Mrs won’t want to go, but I know our phones will be blowing up in about two hours.

How old? Our youngest daughter has been competing for several years. It’s a lot of travel for us because some meets are 3 hours away, but we enjoy it.
Daughter is 13, second year competing. Gold team Excell
Son is 11, first year, and my wife co-coaches them.
Ya, it's all traveling for us. 3-8hrs.

Our daughter is 15. 4-ish years ago she won state and nationals. That year we had to travel to West Virginia for nationals. Last year she got 2nd at nationals and was pissed.

She is in the tumbling side of gymnastics so the handsprings type stuff. USTA.

In. Had to run a bunch of errands today. Feed store, costco, etc. Put about 100 miles on the truck. Was a little nervous as I attempted to do all this stuff last weekend in -6 degree temps, and my diesel fuel gelled up on me once I got about 6 miles from home :lmao: Seems the Amsoil anti gel I had in it didn't do it's job... But after changing fuel filters, adding some Howe's anti gel, and a bottle of Diesel 911 last weekend... It drove fine today in 4 degree temps. First 20 miles or so were nerve racking.. Last thing I wanted to do was end up on the side of the highway again. Kinda just hanging around the house this weekend. Might need to go chop some firewood in the morning.

Checking in.

I’m currently cooking up some bacon to add to the potato leek soup I made :smokin:. I’ve been thinking about making it for a week or two. It’s a rainy evening so this is perfect.

I wanted to check out a liquor store that is outside my usual errand zone to look for rum samples. After a big breakfast we headed out. We went to a place called The Bottle Shop in Folsom. I didn’t find anything new, but I did get a bottle of Bumbu at a nice price. Then we went to a place in Eldorado Hills Mrs wanted to check out. A couple doors down was an old school candy store. This place wasn’t very big, but it was kind of overwhelming with what they had available. There was a couple in there with a young boy (4?), talk about sensory overload 😆.

Sipping on a rum&coke, getting ready to have some soup :grinpimp:

If anyone is interested, here’s a link to the candy/popcorn store. They have a great selection of “nostalgia” candy.

Went and installed the thermostat that I bought last night for my mom's heater....

After I installed it nothing worked :homer:. It wasn't working correctly before, according to her.

The ****ing original installer had the wire with insulation wrapped around the screws on the heater terminal board :mad3:, so I guess that it was having intermittent problems.

Went skiing today. Wrenched my knee up yesterday afternoon unloading the tractor, so it was pretty painful. Just a bit of rain on top of the snow and and it was fast…. I quit when it really started raining, wife went until she was soaked through. Saw several car crashes in SpoCompton on the way home, now in and gonna order Chinese food. Supercross on one screen and Packers game on another. Rain has really been an equalizer the past few weeks. Son in law smoked 3 racks of ribs for dinner tomorrow. Good weekend

"No I'm busy"

Didn’t really do anything all day. . Today is day 6 of Memartica weather, we still have a few inches of snow on the ground. So nothing has been accomplished all week and all typical weekend activities are off of the menu. We paid a visit to the 5th largest pyramid in the world just to kill time, went to Home Depot, and made pizzas. It is a stark lifestyle change from spending last Saturday night wheeling, but that’s the balance.

We aren’t genetically predisposed to live laugh and love in these frigid conditions, I guess it’s just hibernation for a couple more days.

Still cold and we woke to a little over a foot of snow that I ended up spending a few hours on cleaning up add in a leisurely lunch and most of the day was shot. GF requested my burritos again so I was happy to make em' for her. Gonna bust us out some burgers and fries for dinner and as per usual it's an early rack time for us since tomorrow is GFs Monday and she get's up at 0 dark 30.
