Most people I know made a bikini out of a fj40 or jeep bikini using there window frame/ channel mounted to the back of the cab bulkhead.
I stitched a bead on the front edge, then used an aluminum strap sandwiching the tarp between the cab and the strap with counter sunk screws in the stock top bolt holes, in the rear I installed brass grommets to the corners, again in the stock top bolt holes,

Getto but they worked and held up pretty well, I ended up building three of them. And the price was right:lmao:

What are you using for the steering wheel/release? NRG?

Rootbeer float finally has a build!!:flipoff2:

Yup you got it, it's worked well for me. Especially with all the sand from Baja and it never jammed. Makes it easy to get in and out of/ harder to steal.

I don't understand fighting the steering with high steer arms, why not just go under the arms or get flat arms?
Most toyota arms are similar in height/ style. I'm running 6 shooters and it's the only arm offered. I've contemplated on swapping the steering to under the arm but I'd also have to cut/ modify the panhard. Not sure how much more this would help me in up travel. The axle is already close to everything and I still need to package a sway bar.

In the pics it looked like steering are axle side panhard was the limiting factor. I'd think at least going under the arms would make a decent difference.

Looks like 4x labs stopped making 6 stud arms?

So here's the plans for the winter upgrades

-Engine (I've been talking about doing this for way to long now) It's hard to swap out a running engine for more work....
2RZ with a TRD blower
ORS conversion harness
Everything is takes to do the swap

-transmission/t cases
R151f with stock to stock 23 spline gear driven cases

-Supension
Traction bar
Air bumps on all 4 corners
Front sway bar

-Move the dual optimas out of the engine bay
-Onboard shower
-Premier welder
-Fix or redesign the rear tire carrier/bumper

And other random things that come up.

Hell yeah. The swap isn't hard, and you know what you're doing, but here's my swap thread in case you want to read through.

Eric you need to make this happen my man, I wanna see that runner on Fordyce!

Right on man, I'll cruise through it and try to remind myself of all the things I have forgotten.

Higher is better cause you never know when some BS rock is going to jump out of nowhere and snap your tie rod end in a mud puddle...:homer:

Edit: in for the build.

The one I really should have sent is this thread. It's definitely some good stuff within there - I tried to heed as much advice as was relevant to my specific swap.

Alright, I'll stop clogging!

I had to laugh at ‘nature flying off my tires’ because it’s a Toyota. :lmao:

Nice looking build. Plans for the truck in those photos? I assume it’s the old rig.

Curious about the blower and how that will improve seat of the pants feel, cause im sure it'll give you 13hp's. :homer:

Truck metamorphosis into my current buggy.

Hoping for the 215hp +/- range, just enough to not be dangerously slow when driving down the road. Also a bunch of places I like going to are at high elevations, so I know for a fact this will help.

What are your plans for the old 22re?

Throw it in storage, live close to me? Pm me if you want to make a deal.

Just finished pressure washing the engine bay and now it's shining like a diamond in a goats ass
