This will be my first build thread, so please bear with me here. It will also be a photo dump starting and I'll edit and explain what's going on. I'm getting ready to do a bunch of upgrades that I wanted to do in real time with the thread but figured I needed to add the start of it all.

I'll edit all the upgrades here/what I'm running. So it's time to lag this shit up....

Current running setup

-Front axle
TG rock assault tacoma width
RCV birfs with 30spline TG inners
HP 5.29 with a ARB RD132
Using IFS hubs and tacoma calipers/rotors, front range brackets/ arp hub studs
6 shooter knuckles
Stock trunion bearings ( tried to use the trunion eliminator but drove like shit)

-Rear axle
Rock assault rear IFS width housing/random truss I had
v6 diff 5.29 grizzly locker
stock rear shafts

Stock wore out 22re,w56, dual 2.28 cases, Using a trail gear doubler and skidplate

TG bumpers front and modified rear with ruffstuff spare tire kit

4xinovations cage

This is how it started, just a stock 22re sr5 5speed 4runner

So the panhard and steering was kind of a pain to try and get it right, here is my first attempt but I will show you how I did it in a later post. I want other people to see where I failed to help them out before they have the same problems.

Starting to weld some things on, I pushed the steering box as far as I could without to much modification to the front body mount. I plated 3 sides of the frame, my truck that was running a similar setup but full hydro trashed this part of the frame/panhard mount. So I wanted to make sure it had the beef from the begining.

So with me contemplating on how I was going to fix the suspension, I decided to start working on the interior and other things. Like the 4xinovations cage kit. Nice cage but I'm over 6 foot and should of just built my own looking back.

Here I mounted the lower cage plates to the frame and the rock sliders, also tied the rear mounts to the rear bumper. Figured this is the best way to help keep it all usable interior space and somewhat safe.

The sound deadening mat was way more work than I expected and not totally sure how much it helped but I keep telling myself that it was worth it.
Used a cheapo amazon switch panel that I pirated the parts off of, the rockford stereo head works but sometimes is a PIA with trying to update randomly. Also was able to reuse my old dual battery/winch controller setup from 12voltguy.

For the fix on the rear suspension was to go spring over, I tried it with the deavers but it was going to bend them. So I sold them to pay for TG rear springs, I had good look with them on my pickup.

Also was able to score these oe raptor rear shocks brand new off ebay for under 500 total. They're 12" stroke 9way bypass 3.0, all I had to do was drill out the bushings to 1/2 bolts.

Random truss I had laying around that worked out well for a nice back brace.

Here I added a heavy wall square tube that tied into the rear tire carrier crossmember.

Ok so back to the 3 link correction and all that stuff

So ran into multiple issues when I had the first rendition all tacked up. So here is a list of things I changed/modified to help it cycle.

-fj80 ends were small to begin with and I've had one fail on me before "I was abusing it harder then I plan on beating on this one"

-The length of the draglink and panhard was different causing bump steer

-Packaging was tight so anything to help make it easier the better.

Here was my way of fixing it

- I used a Y link style steering with one ton TRE's, this helped with shortening up the drag link. After that I had to chop the lower axle panhard mount up to lengthen the panhard bar to within 1/2" of the same length of the draglink.

Hard to tell with the photos but I like cutting out a rectangle that welds to the whole front about the width of the body mount/frame and protects the radiator from random things/while helping support the whole front front frame assembly.

Tried to keep as much of the inner fender wells as possible, I like to keep the motor protected from nature flying off my tires.

So here it is when I finally had it going, first ever trip to the rubicon solo with the lady. Performed flawlessly!

At this point in its life it was on 33"pro comp mt2's
4.10s with Tru tracks front and rear
Stock to stock doubler
Drove it like this for a couple years until I change gears/ lockers/ 35s

Most people I know made a bikini out of a fj40 or jeep bikini using there window frame/ channel mounted to the back of the cab bulkhead.

I'd like something different, thanks for the link.
