Shit Bull attack leaves 'Pit Bull' rescuer dead, female owner seriously injured.

A St. Louis man was found dead after being attacked by three Pit bulls in the Penrose neighborhood.

Officers responded to a “call for police help” in the 4800 block of San Francisco after the 62-year-old victim was discovered lifeless in the back yard of a residence.

Another victim suffered from significant bites from the dogs attacking him in the alley. The incident happened between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, upon arrival, officers observed the victim was suffering from significant bodily wounds. The homicide division and the medical examiner responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed pit bulls possibly attacked the victim. However, it is unknown how the incident transpired.

A north St. Louis resident said they saw the victim Sunday morning.

“I kept looking and it looked like somebody was laying on the ground,” said neighbor Michael Lewis. “I said, ‘I’m going to wait and see.’ I went back to get my coffee and when I come back out, like I say, before I went in one dog that was over there was just licking at him. He hadn’t bit him or nothing. There were two more coming down the alley. They came right out of there and come over there with the other little dog was at.”

Lewis said he has seen six pit bulls in his neighborhood before roaming free. Neighbors told FOX 2 that the dogs are owned by someone in the neighborhood.

According to police, EMS transported the second victim, a 92-year-old man to the hospital for treatment. Animal Control responded and took custody of three pit bulls matching the description of several dog bites in the area.

Lewis said he avoids the alleyway when he’s walking his dog.

“My dog is right around about 90 pounds,” said Lewis. “I know he ain’t going to have no problem with one of them, but I ain’t going to let him fight no six.”

On Monday, the city of St. Louis Department of Health said three dogs were seized and are being housed at the Animal Control shelter. The Animal Care and Control Officer is conducting the investigation.

The medical examiner said the autopsy is complete. The cause and manner of death are pending and it will be approximately 8-12 weeks until the cause of death is certified.

A Franklin County woman has died at the hospital after being attacked by several dogs in April.
Michelle Sheeks was on an early morning walk near her home on April 28 when her husband said she was attacked by a pack of dogs.
“Unfortunately she never got the chance to leave that hospital,” Michelle’s husband, Wesley told News 19.

Michelle passed at the University of Mississippi Medical Center due to complications from her injuries just before 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The same dogs are also accused of killing Jacqueline Summer Beard, an Alabama Department of Public Health worker that tried to follow up after that incident.
The dogs’ owner, Brandy Lee Dowdy, 39, was arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with Beard’s death. She will also face penalties under Emily’s Law, which was signed by Gov. Kay Ivey in March 2018.

Michelle filed a civil lawsuit against Dowdy and property owner Billy Joe Crumpton in June. Court records say that neither Dowdy nor Crumpton took reasonable steps to restrain the dogs or any other “reasonable” action that would have prevented the attacks. Read the full civil complaint here. Rest of article.
WHNT reported in May:

Investigators say that several dogs dragged Michelle down a hill on Crumpton Road where she was out of eyesight of any passersby and into a nearby field. A neighbor saw what was happening and came to her aid and saved her life.

“Out of nowhere seven dogs just came out at her,” Wesley said. “It was dark and she couldn’t see them, or she couldn’t hear them. Just took her down and she didn’t really stand a chance. She said she was getting hit by them all at one time.”...
Michelle Sheeks suffered injuries so badly to her body that it took six surgeries and grafts to stabilize her. She was transferred to a hospital in Mississippi. Wesley said he has no idea when she will fully recover from the injuries as another surgery is needed. He is asking for prayers as this attack has left the family with no money for medical expenses.

“We don’t have a whole lot of money,” Wesley stated. “We’re just paycheck to paycheck just as a lot of people are. We’re depending on the kindness of others just to get us through this situation.”

Only a day later, Jacqueline Summer Beard, an investigator with the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), was attacked while investigating the attack on Michelle. Article
WHNT did not report the breed of the dogs.

At the end of that human flesh food chain, there is a financial legal chain. Just like plankton in the open bluewater ocean. And at the end of the Pit Bull chain or any dog breed for that matter is this chain of life, and it includes financial liability. In the above case a lawsuit has been filed against the dog owners' PROPERTY OWNER. This is why in some of these glorious endless internet masterpiece threads I continue to point out that the statement " follow the money" applies. And it applies at the $$$ and legal/acutuarian level where the specific breed American Staffordshire Terrier AKA shit bull is specifically named as a liability. Not 75 lb Standard Poodles, not Doberman Pinschers, not Belgian Malinois or other breeds equally capable of attacking, ripping and killing human prey. Shit bulls are a statistical liability, and this liability is factual and unarguable.

im surprised it took a couple months for another attack to be posted by me, earlier this year it seemed like we had one every few weeks

Were any of these victims tested for COVID? Because if they had it, clearly the cause of death was COVID :homer::stirthepot:

I had one for 14 years , not one issue . Recuse . My sister in law had one for 2 months , feeding 2 dogs at one time . The pit bully , clamped on her arm and broke it in 3 places , 2 surgeries and still limited use of the arm . She gave the dog up for adoption . What a terrible mistake ! It should of been put down . If someone else is hurt , SHE needs to be held responsible .

ALBERTSON, New York — A 70-year-old woman has died after she was mauled by a dog that belonged to her late stepson in what one police officer described as a “horrific attack.”

The attack by the dog, reportedly a breed of pit bull, occurred Wednesday in the backyard of the woman’s home in Long Island, patch.com reports. The woman’s husband returned home from work at about 1 p.m. and found the dog dragging his wife’s body around the yard, reports say.

“It was a horrific scene,” Nassau Police Det. Michael Bitsko tells Patch. “The husband was in shock ... and he’s going to process this for years to come.”

NBC 4 in New York reports the dog belonged to the woman’s stepson, who was killed in a motorcycle crash within the past two weeks. The stepson and dog had lived at the house.

When a police officer arrived on the scene Wednesday, the dog reportedly charged, forcing the officer to shoot and kill it. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder tells ABC 7 the officer who shot the dog was taken to a hospital afterward because he was traumatized by what he had seen.

Reports say police do not expect to file charges in the incident. The woman’s 66-year-old husband is cooperating with police, reports say.
