Holy crap, you let ev13wt help you move it?

drive the ship
No no NO :shaking:

"Driving" requires entering into a contract with the state.

He'll be traveling the ship towing the barge :flipoff2::laughing:

EDIT:

[US Coast Guard]

"Yes, you are being detained".

(damn, this is going to be a long day)
"Yes, this is a real badge".
"Yes, we do have the authority".
"These are US waters".
"Your barge is not sovereign territory".
"No, not the boat either".
"That's not a real Swiss flag".
"We're not asking you to enter a contract".
"Sir, the USCG doesn't recognize you as an Admiral".
"No, I don't want to buy any .308."
"Or copper wiring".
"WTF is a 'square'?"
"Sir, you have the right to remain silent".
"For the love of God, please stop talking".

You fucker I'm laughing too hard and nobody here will understand :flipoff2:

Dunno, but it is the flag most constitutionalists fly, YMMV.

So is the peace flag duly and rightly authorized to enforce and uphold the constitution or is it illegal?

Guess no thoughts been given on insulation and staying warm? Sea cans going to be either cold, or not much room inside once insulated to any extent that will keep things warm during the winter. Things will freeze solid in my shop with 2x6 and finished exterior and interior walls with R22 during the winter if I don't keep it heated.

No foundation? Just a floating slab? Here footings need to be 48"+ deep to be below frost line, I assume Alaska has to be a lot deeper.

Lots of things get built on wood beams in my area where permits aren't needed, so you can adjust as needed when things settle. Containers seem like a waste of time and $ other then for getting things there, and for lockable storage once there.

Covered that a few days ago.

Would need a extension for my auger to get it down to 4 ft.

Any idea on the cost difference between 6 inches of slab and 8 inches beyond the additional steel rebar ?

Calculator

40x40x6 $3750.00 @125 per yard

40x40x8 $5000.00 at 125 per yard.

I have customers buying 20' high tops,1 trip for 1800 plus delivery. I posted a link to them in the other container thread

So my I mentioned the $2k 20 footers to my father in law.

Somehow they ended up looking at them for their other daughter and her husband and think they got a good price on a 1 trip 40 footer for $6500 plus shipping and tax :homer:

"The used ones were rusty"

They went to the stupid dry box place that charges double price even though they probably buy them in the highest quantities. I found new 40s for around $3500. No idea how they got duped into this.

6" slab would cost 25% less for concrete.

8" slab would cost 33% more for concrete.

Was that your question?

The pic of pitches to figure if my roof material will work

Looking for original pitch of 8-10 / 12.

Bottom is 5 (, 8' = 40,) cans deep plus overhang so that would be 44 +- feet.

HOLD UP - did we answer your concrete question?

If not, what was not answered?

This is a lot easier if we go methodically instead of playing whack-a-mole

Yes, I googled how much concrete is where im planning to put this thing up at and figured out the additional I needed to know, thanks.

30 yards at 6 inches thick or 40 yards at 8 inches thick.

I liked skee ball better or the nickle claw machine from the long beach pike.

Cool, thanks for closing that loop.

NOW proceed with your next question.

Did you call the concrete batch plant and ask them what a yard of concrete that you're considering will cost? Did you get on their schedule? Have you lined out finishers? Who's going to set the bar? Forms? Embeds for the containers?

Finally, what about the goddamned barge and ship?

When you stated you were going to tow it up, you meant Alaska Marine lines, Lynden Transport, etc will be taking it up on one of their regular barge runs, right?

I have a cousin thats a Licensed maritime pilot that will pull his leased barge with my 40 ft cans and my tractor trailer up, I'll be on the ship in my bunk.

But thats not right away all in my good time.

Why are you using his leased barge when you have your own?
