Shipping Container shop project

Its just a shop to work on and park trucks etc, and for storage.

Planning on having a place to crash when SHTF like its about to soon.

As AK 49 population solution.

Boyd lives in Alaska did you know ?

Guess no thoughts been given on insulation and staying warm? Sea cans going to be either cold, or not much room inside once insulated to any extent that will keep things warm during the winter. Things will freeze solid in my shop with 2x6 and finished exterior and interior walls with R22 during the winter if I don't keep it heated.

No foundation? Just a floating slab? Here footings need to be 48"+ deep to be below frost line, I assume Alaska has to be a lot deeper.

Lots of things get built on wood beams in my area where permits aren't needed, so you can adjust as needed when things settle. Containers seem like a waste of time and $ other then for getting things there, and for lockable storage once there.
Pook to me it sounds like there will either A. be a separate house or B. this will just be his summer shop.

Im not sure what the AK 49 population solution is, he mentioned prior that Alaska 159 years ago was way less communist than current CA so theres that. -PAE care to expand on this?

LOL

Who ya gonna get to verify, my mutts ?

Alaska is only one option its not the only card I have up my sleeve, just farming out the potential for the peninsula there, Soldotna was a good guess as that is very close to the property location.

My pops was into real estate, as his sister ( my aunt ) was a real estate broker licensed in several states.

so do we need to start a poll on when he will actually head north? and who ever guess within the closest can get some irate swag :lmao::lmao:

Copping out already. :lmao:

*Thanks for clarifying that your dad’s sister is your aunt.

I never stated Alaska was my one and only target of relocation, the truck storage shelter design was my main reason for this thread not the destination as much.

The dark in the daylight hours put put me off a bit also probably more than the cold aspect.

Figured the likes of you needed such explanation.

Didn’t SoFried finger your dad’s sister (your aunt) back in the old days on the Canadian prairie? Maybe I’m getting my threads mixed up.

Let's get to the bottom of this, shall we?

PAE, where the fuck are you supposedly moving to?

Well pardon my confusion. :homer:

If this is the level of boredom retirement brings, then I'll either be better off 6ft under OR just never retire.

I typically need to smoke ganja to daydream like this.

I quote the title of a 1960's song and you think that is my only option to relocate ?

Yeah you are confused.
Ok, you are a terrible at telling lies. You responded to where you’re moving with making the statement something about “north to Alaska”.

Then you said you already put up fencing on the property and have an unlocked 20’ container on the property. :lmao:

C'mon guys, let's stay on track:

PAE, do you actually own land in AK? Or have the funds to purchase it? When's the last time (if ever) you were even in AK? Got a timeline for this supposed move?
Yes, and yes, was there a little more than a year ago put in a few fences and dropped a 20 ft can on a leveled gravel area for tool storage etc, didnt leave anything in it and left it unlocked.

No real timeline at this point, thinking of 2 years.

Yeah you are confused.
Maybe you should've started this thread off with, "This is just bench-racing / daydreaming at this point, but I want to figure this out".

When you heavily imply / outright state you're going to a chosen spot in Alaska, don't get all jerk-offy about someone assuming you were telling the truth.

Ya fookin' froot loop

Don't forget he already shipped a beloved square up there. Allegedly.
His cousin put it on a barge, took it to his other cousin with the batch plant that built a concrete dock for the ship and a landing strip for his other cousin with the plane, to drop it on his property, where there is nothing of value.
