Selling spiders.

This very much deserves a place in the TP, but I am currently not that high the totem.

Years ago, I knew of a couple labs that would purchase black widow spiders to do something like make the anti-venom from them. Maybe two or three years ago, I still came up with one lab. Now, neither my wife nor I can find any such place.

We have an absolute shitload of black widows on our property, and as we're looking to live off our land, selling the ladies off is one way to do so.

This place seems like it's usually one step behind Redditers. What can you find?

Why?

You can have any other spider that doesn't have venom and looks close enough or even cooler.
But you want this one, because it has venom? So in case it gets out you not only have a random spider about, but one with venom.

Hold on. Let me guess. It's because you're living on the edge and want people to think you're brave or something like that?

Hardly. Always found spiders fascinating. That and people will leave a widow the fuck alone. I've had other spiders and people want to mess with them.

I have more than enough to keep said student busy. What'd they want them for?
 
If people are buying those damn things, I’m going to have to stop killing them in the generator house at my deer lease. There’s at least one on the damn pull cord handle every time I go to start it.

I shot one inside an old grill with a .40 s&w once. That was neat.

Back when I knew of labs buying them, I rarely stumbled upon any more than three in a winter. Moved to CO. and started seeing them often. Bought our property in MO. and holy shit are they everywhere.

We were spraying them with cheap brake cleaner last summer just to keep the population around or belongings down.

I wanted to use a weed burner on this one, but the multiple full gas cans nearby prevented that, so I had to stab it with a screwdriver.

Not now. I sold the Ford, donated plasma, etc. The 5MT's have some horrible ratios.

I squished plenty with my fingers in CO. Kinda funny that I was the only one that would climb down in some of the wells in our last neighborhood because there would be widows in them. They really don't do a damn thing unless you try to mess with them and get right under their fangs.

She musta been yuge. We have some of the biggest mams on our property that I've seen in a while.

Back in CO. We would occasionally catch one in either house we stayed in. Stayed a few month in a trailer in Blanca that had a crawl space that was fucking packed with them. You'd be on the shitter and see one scaling down a curtain right next to you or they would drop from the ceiling.

Spider hardly bother me at all. In fact, you can handle black widows bare-handed without them being bother, just as long as you don't agitate them. One of my best friends and I have done this numerous times.

Brown recluses on the other hand, they can fuck right off.
