What's new

Scrap

Yeah my local SA recycle is $200 a ton so $10 per 100lbs. I got a trailer full of scrap I'm gonna take next week to make room since I'm gonna cut up a couple more trucks next week to scrap.

lead scrap lately ?

Batteries that is ?

My local scrap yard didn't pay squat on batteries. I took prolly 900 lbs of batteries and got $23. I shoulda took them to O'riellys. They pay 10 bucks per battery whether you are buying a new one or not.
Yeah, the last load of batteries I took in was disappointing too.

Ill call the scrap Monday but dont expect to get more than 10c a lb, and yes that is disappointing a few years ago it was 25c a lb.

If they’re paying that little, make sure all the cells are full of water.

Think I got .37 lb back in 2018 last batch went with the range lead at .74 lb in july

Similar. I ended up with close to 1000 9ah batteries. Scrap yard told me their base price was 9c/lb but if I was bringing in over 1000lbs they could give me 13c/lb

I've been selling them at about 2 bucks each in quantity to get rid of them. Was going to build a solar setup but the move next year plan took that off the list.

I take mine to a battery recycling place, they pay by size. Better money than the scrap yard.

same with breakage that can have covers on it
it yearns for sand as well

Where are you getting all this free sand? don’t you know there’s a worldwide shortage. We’re running out. Stop wasting it :flipoff2:
