I took in a small load this morning. It was $8 per 100 for "sheet iron".
My local scrap yard didn't pay squat on batteries. I took prolly 900 lbs of batteries and got $23. I shoulda took them to O'riellys. They pay 10 bucks per battery whether you are buying a new one or not.lead scrap lately ?
Batteries that is ?

Ill call the scrap Monday but dont expect to get more than 10c a lb, and yes that is disappointing a few years ago it was 25c a lb.
Similar. I ended up with close to 1000 9ah batteries. Scrap yard told me their base price was 9c/lb but if I was bringing in over 1000lbs they could give me 13c/lbIll call the scrap Monday but dont expect to get more than 10c a lb, and yes that is disappointing a few years ago it was 25c a lb.
and sandIf they’re paying that little, make sure all the cells are full of water.
and sand
be sure and top up their sand before you top up their water
same with breakage that can have covers on itthat’s just doing too much.
same with breakage that can have covers on it
it yearns for sand as well
