Russia investigating shooting, explosions at concert hall as terror attack

Russia is investigating a shooting and explosive attack on a large concert venue in Moscow that has left dozens dead as a terrorist incident.

Read one report that there is videos of them executing people. Some of them fled already.

A large-scale terrorist attack has unfolded in Moscow, Russia, in the last hour.


Here's the latest:


  • Five terrorists targeted the Crocus City Music Hall. There was an event going on in the main hall during the attack. All tickets were sold out (the venue can hold 6,200 people).
  • The terrorists were armed with rifles and explosives.
  • 4 out of the 5 terrorists reportedly fled the scene
  • At least 64 people have died.
  • Mayor of Moscow has now Cancelled any further Mass Gatherings in the City for the remainder of the Weekend.
  • A large fire has engulfed the building.
  • Footage we've obtained (that's not suitable for Instagram) shows men executing civilians inside the building.
  • 2 weeks ago, the US Embassy in Russia warned that they were

"monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts." They added, "US citizens should be advised to avoid large gatherings over the next 48 hours."


- Three days ago, Putin dismissed US warnings about possible terrorist attacks in Moscow at crowded venues. he said it was


"outright blackmail" by the West and an attempt to "intimidate and destabilize our society."

Always thought it was odd how not more people are killed by gunman in crowded venues like this. Head count in this one is higher than usual. Most of the time its 2-4 dead and 200 rounds fired.

  • Russian security services are looking for a number of men from Ingushetia (a Russian republic) suspected of today's deadly terror attack in Moscow. We've provided a picture in the reel.
  • At least one person was detained by Russian police. According to some Russian media, this person was reportedly involved in the attacks.
  • Russia's foreign ministry is demanding that the United States provide what intel they had about a possible attack in Moscow. Two weeks ago, the State Department said they were "monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts."
  • US National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby has commented on the terrorist attacks in Moscow. He said, "Our thoughts are with" those who lost loved ones in the attacks.
  • Russian Authorities are searching for a white Renault, which is believed to have been used by approximately four terrorists to leave.
  • Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podolyak has stated that Ukraine had nothing to do with the Terrorist Attack on the Crocus Concert Hall. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also said that Ukraine had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks.
  • Russia's national guard is deploying forces around critical cities and is mobilizing in Moscow to locate the escaped terrorists.
  • The fire at the concert hall has been contained.
  • According to CNN, there has been "fairly specific" intelligence since November that I$I$-K wanted to carry out attacks in Russia.

US intelligence reportedly warned Russia about this.

Here’s my quick list of ideas thoughts, they only seem to be shooting some people not all, convenient the building caught fire and will burn to the ground destroying evidence and bodies, we warned Russia about this before and they ignored it. So the cia boys will be back on new assignments tomorrow. The isis line is to ramp up new engagement on that old line of thought. America is weak so enemies are moving may also be relevant

Also amusing or scary, there’s live gun fire and you can see people being shot but they’re filming this with a filter while laying on the ground? Are people that removed from their fight or flight instincts that they don’t leave a situation? Hey! Loook! He’s dead better film this epic moment yo! I’ll get all the likes and emojis

Looks like the place wasn't very crowded from the videos I've seen.
 
Not making light of this at all when I say it reminds me of a level from a first person shooter video game. "No Russian", from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The weird feeling that it's supposed to look like something it is not reminded me of the game. Life imitating art, to an extent.

This is horrible...I hope we actually find out the truth on this.
 
Maybe it’s me but it seems like they weren’t trying to kill everyone. They were shooting at nothing while people were around them. Maybe there was a priority target there and anyone else was just extra.

Determined people with only basic training can be lethal. One guy with a pistol kill over 30 people at Virgina Tech. If this was a coordinated terrorist attack with assault rifles 40 is actually a modest count. 2 dead after 200 rounds it's usually :mr-t:s.
