What's new

RTF is literally paving over obstacles on the Rubicon

I remember 2 years ago I ran part of the rtf loop and somewhere near the entrance did have a gnarly looking drop, they had a skull and crossbone to keep people from just blindly driving into it

I don't remember going down or up it being that hard but if it's dirt and only going to get worse over time then it makes sense

That's their only way in/out of there and they have a full on little cabin that they probably have to run supplies to

Also it's their property where they added more obstacles so not a big deal that they tamed one
That’s the spot

Page2 and not a single picture of the "ahmahgahd" crazy dangerous spot?
:homer: don't click on the link provided in the op or anything. :shaking:

ehhhhh

In a buggy or a well built Jeep on 40s it's totally do-able.
But I can see how it could be dangerous for the weekend crowd with their JK on 37s.

If that's their main access, and from the thread it appears it is, then totally understandable to not want to bring groceries and supplies up and down that. It's private property and has amenities that need caretaking. Is it doable in an offroad built vehicle, yep, that wouldn't even rate us stopping to watch with my group. It is private property even if the funds were donated. Not everything has to be catered to me for me to enjoy it.

I'm not seeing the problem. 🤷‍♂️

We used to ride Tellico and there was an excavator and dump truck on the trails constantly doing repairs and managing the water run off. "And it STILL got shut down" So as long as you have a place to ride and the trails are being maintained, wtf are you bitching about?

It looks like there was already a thin layer of concrete there poured over rock and dirt? I dont remember there being a broken ledge like that.

As always pictures don't show how steep that section is. I came out of there one night with a broken tie rod from another rig to weld up at home and pulled cable to get up this after one try I think. The next morning I wheeled back in and out of there just fine with no winch. There are two notable climbs getting out of the property both with dirt at the bottom that will need maintenance.

This thread is the exact reason why I stay away from the Rubicon.
To many want it “their way” and not willing to comprise with others.

To those that have an issue with the work that was done.
What have you done to keep this trail, or any trail in the area open?

We do not have the right to complain about something, if we are not fully involved in the process itself.

Did you read the articles?

VW made it just a few mile. They with lots of tugging & stacking.

This is in the middle of the trail, not on the train.
I was behind them...
I guess the thread I started
"Have they unpaved the trail " got axed way back when...
I'm just glad I can still go there...
People suck, but Oh Well

Fixed that for ya. :grinpimp:

Like the old days with pirates of the rubicon we should do a cleanup...

I wonder if irate4x4.com could have some sort of sponsorship with getting the flag here and such?

We all go play and drink  how hard would it be to take some extra trash out?
We might be able to get RTF to setup a trashcan @tahoma for us...
I'm in to run point if we get enough interest. :usa:

Odd.. I just 2 minutes ago had a conversation with a coworker about the old poo clean ups.

I’d be down.. probably not as much clean-up to be done as back in the day..(early 2000’s)
