RTF is literally paving over obstacles on the Rubicon

I just ran the whole rtf property on memorial day weekend. I don't remember anything being that ridiculous. Trying to figure out where that picture is.

Edit: Is it where you start going down hill after crossing the creek, before the camp shack?

So.. this may not be a popular opinion..

1.. if it’s in their land, they can do whatever they want IMO

2.. never been there, don’t plan to since I’m not in that clique.. don’t like concrete, don’t go there.

3. If the too-close-to-stock rigs are struggling, they make bypasses, and if it’s their property and they don’t want bypasses.. see #1. Also might create a legal liability.. dunno.

4.. some years ago I was trying to stay active in land use issues.. I set a meeting of other members from the old place.. none of the RTF crowd there because they had a previous engagement.. this was intentional. That night over beers and pizza is when I came to the realization that the off road community is fucked and not fixable. Shit talking our own people (publicly on FB or behind each other’s backs at a pizza joint) is not how we win this. Our independence nature is a strength, but this community is too divided to succeed.

Totally agree but didn't they use donations to purchase this property? I know they've got my money from cantina and Amazon smile donations. I think they want to make more trails out of the land they purchased, not just the one loop.

Only 2 drops I remember is the drop on the way in and the long dirt hill up that turns a hard L at the top.

Booo fucking hooo
Quit bitching about everything. It's private property so go suck a start a shotgun before you want to drive on private property.

Jease Christ. Some people bitch about every fucking thing. You fucking liberal crybaby

I think some of us web-wheelers need to remember wheeling isn’t what it used to be whether that’s for the better or for worse. We had a good thing but the normies of the world caught on.

SXSs really helped put a big nail in the culture and community that’s for sure. The overlanding instagram dbag fad helped.

If their main demographics are duck Jeep drivers then I don’t fault them for giving them what they want, at least they’re open and not shutting down.

My opinion the RTF trail is an awesome addition we never had. If I spent the last 10 years fundraising and made this all happen and decide the trail is fucked up and needs fixing for her greater good, it’s getting fixed.

Don’t like it, don’t go.

he gets it

I ran it last year and have no clue what part of the loop was so bad that was “near impossible” but it’s their land, they can do what they want.

Fwiw
I ran the trail well before they paved it during the P.B.B. days...
I was in the point buggy memorial day on that loop Jimbo mentioned, I saw nuthin outta hand.
Some people's children really are getting whinny.

Remember
We have to cater to the 42" buggys, the overland dorks, the effing razors, the Prius crowd:stirthepot: AND the greenies...

Did d.o.t. fukkup the trail?
Yes.
Did karen shaumbaugh try to kill the trail and lose?
Yes

Doesn't mean that the back biting is needed, but frustration is what it is.
See youse all out there.

I remember 2 years ago I ran part of the rtf loop and somewhere near the entrance did have a gnarly looking drop, they had a skull and crossbone to keep people from just blindly driving into it

I don't remember going down or up it being that hard but if it's dirt and only going to get worse over time then it makes sense

That's their only way in/out of there and they have a full on little cabin that they probably have to run supplies to

Also it's their property where they added more obstacles so not a big deal that they tamed one

Private property, putting it back to how it was originally, pshhht, whatever. Not like that Bronco guy that winched a bunch of shit out of the way and left it.

Better rtf news that I haven't heard anyone talk about is adding obstacles on the Tahoe exit :smokin:

The dirt/gravel road section is getting eroded so tahoe national forest is getting with rtf to reroute the trail

rtf is supposed to help with picking a reroute that has obstacles

No fucks given. That place has been a parking lot for Jeep faggots clogging up the trails for the last 12 plus years.
